I don't know. Maybe it's growing up in the South West, but the land of Red Dead Redemption is something I instantly gravitate to. Skyrim's beautiful too, but I don't get the same feeling looking at it's landscape as I do when I'm riding through New Austin.

On PC, with ultra settings and just the official texture pack, it looks awesome.

I think the aesthetics of the world are one of the things that Beth got (almost) completely right with Skyrim. I say almost because if we're considering the dungeons to be part of the world, they're much too linear for my tastes, although they are mostly unique and fun to romp through.

two worlds did look amazing but it felt empty... but the graphics were awesome.

amalur looks good but has a wow look.

i would give it to skyrim... never have i just walked around looking at nature in a game.

I wasn't going to agree, but then I tried to think of a game world, not more beautiful, but that I personally preferred the look of, and I couldn't think of one. There are games that look real shiny, Crysis and the like, but Skyrim nails the...I hate to use the word, but 'vibe' seems appropriate here.
