We need more dungeon crawler type gameplay!

so most people are saying they dont think hunting through abondon bunkers and buildings for loot isnt fallout? cuase i got the impression thats what they had intially wanted to do but couldnt do so well in fallout 2 and 1. by the way after everyones rant i went and bought fallout 2 just to brush up on my knowledge of it. in all honesty beyond the story line, and quests of course, thats what i thought it was all about. like in fallout 2 where you find the alien blaster so you can hand it over to the BOS and get power armor training. so with all that siad id love to have more areas to rome aound and explore and dont think people should be upset about it or find anything wrong with wanting more of that. its not like its going to change the experience of any of the nay sayers. i mean if all you want is to do the quests and be done you still can. maybe it was the slinking around dungeons part that turned everyone off.

I think you mean A World of Pain. Bounties adds a bunch of quests, but only a few dungeons.

Of course, you could use both for great justice. :P

Ooops, just saw my mistake. I loved Bounties so much, everything is Bounties to me. Yes, AWOP--very tough in some places, scenic, and immersive .... and ALL underground!

FO3 had tons of different locations, takoma industrial, the mall, la enfant plaza, falls church, the capitol building, dupont circle, and most of the other locations are NOT copy and pasted, the metros were but the rest wasn't, FO3 had tons of unique dungeons and locations, and talking about copy and pasting ?, 99% of the new vegas map is desert, and lets keep talking about copy and paste, all the outposts for ncr and ceasers legions are TENTS, gee thats real unique, just sticking tents all over the map, and what about all the one room shacks? those are all copied and pasted, FO3 had way more unique locations, there isn't even a comparison.

Your right like arefu was interesting to look at, at least new vegas has quests, FO3 only had 16 side quests, and if you dont have dlc the only thing to do after that is wonder the wasteland, seeing the sights is awsome, but [censored] give me some context

I remember very few of the dungeons being mission specific or necessary in FO3, thus the majority are easily avoidable if you don't like dungeons.

Me, I like the sewers, and train tunnels. They were kind of neat.

Predictable, I knew where the enemy will appear in FO3

fallout 3 might of been predictable to a big degree, but it did have all the various factions patrolling the map and different enemies would spawn and there were random events/encounters, but new vegas is far worse and it has NO random encounters at all, the same enemies spawn in the same locations with very few exceptions, most of the map is extremely empty, after all its a desert, not much going on, factions never leave their bases to patrol the map, the only place i ever found patrols was near camp macarren and near camp searchlight in that general area, the entire left side of the map where goodsprings is, has nothing happening except a few powder gangers who generally walk in small circle. anyone saying the new vegas environment is dynamic and has all sorts of enemies all over the place must be really confused or never had a real adventurous game to compare it to.

 Great choices,I have to agree with Westoftherockies, In Fallout 3 I once saw a Outcast patrol try to take one of Talon Company's bases, and of course I went to go help the Outcast, thinking that they were going to win this one easily but, when we rushed the gate one of Talon Company's Guards saw us and pulled out a Fat-Man and just killed the entire Outcast patrol with one hit. I mean body-parts flying all over the place, I had 3 bars left and ran away like a little girl. The feeling I had in those two minutes of being 100% confident to just crap my pants scared was awesome I never thought in a million years that a Talon Company guard would pullout a freaken Fat-man.I'm always going to remember that moment not because Bethesda made it turn out like that or great story writing, it was just so random and great.Underground areas in Fallout 3 were great to I would see every fraction in the game fighting each other like Three Dog said on the radio that theirs a lot of fighting going on in the CW and I saw it happening with my own eyes fractions fighting one other. And places really felt like they had porpoises and some sort of history not like NV where a cave is just a cave with nothing in their just a gun or bottle cap.

What do you mean doesn't make sense? I keep hearing that, their are tunnels and sewers and subways underneath city's right? I'm trying to figure out why people are saying having more is a bad thing. I guess its a bad thing to expect a little more from are games. It's not an attack on anybody but if you want me to understand where your coming from I need more then just, it makes no sense? I like a little history when it comes to my games and it feels like Fallout3 gave me some with out really trying to punch me in the face with it. I wanted to know everything about CW area but when it comes to NV it just feels like its trying to hard, and the places where a little more could have gone a long way just wasn't there for me.

id like more vaults
and maybe a vault where the inhabitants arent dead? it would be nice to go to a vault for once and its inhabitants werent completely wiped out or some shyt.

Thats what I was telling myself to. In both Fallout 3 and Fallout NV why inst their any people in the Vaults. Yes, I know vault 101 and vault 21 and Boomers, but you know what i'm trying to say, are vault people just slow or something because they keep getting killed off. :disguise:

^^^

If you didn't enjoy dungeons, most of the sewers in FO3 were completely extraneous to the main quest.

To be blunt, FO3 had a better map. Now, maybe that was due to the location, but I can't see how anyone can deny it had a better map. So many wonderful nooks and crannys to explore.

Racist? Really? How is it racist?

You're trolling right? The poll is implying that if we don't appreciate/want dungeon crawler, we're automatically boring and hate fun. Pretty rude and discriminating if you ask me.

No. I am very boring and enjoy bleak barren landscapes with no personality o.o, is my vote, because obviously I am pretty [censored] boring and enjoy bleak [censored] in nothingness, and because personality comes from crawling in randomized pointlessness and picking up wonderglue and scrap metal which I don't generally prefer.

I want quests and questrelated exploring to be the majority of the game, and generally less dungeoncrawling, especially random and pointless, because I think it's bor... too fun to have in the game.

Exactly.

The thing about exploration, is that it is only fun ONCE. That is why I played FO3 with only one playthrough. With FNV, there are many more options in quests, so I can playthrough more.
