And "behold, Cat/lizard man Dovahkiin" is better?

Considering that those races/cultures are far more advanced (and we know a lot more about them) I would say that it sounds a lot better.

No, I meant if they invade, then maybe Tang'mo, Argonians, and Kha'jiit form some kind of alliance. Perhaps the Argonians and Kha'jiits are the main ones who accept the Tang'mo and they offer them some protection and assistance through a guild. Then maybe we can finally have some important beast characters.
I don't really see the Khajiit and Argonians working together seance they practily dispise ecother. However they could have an uprising againts a common enemy.

Im not sure about new races to play but to meet some of these races, there lands, cities, culture and so on would be totally awesome. Going the the land of Akaviri and seeing there races would be amazing and meeting the see elves would be cool too. All this would make me that excited if added.

Two new playable races.

One human and one mer.

1. Human Akivir (I sure Beth can introduce a storyline to explain the lore side) based on Japanese style culture as the gamer audience from this part of the world is not catered for at present.

2. Maormer (based on Pacific & American Indian influences as again this area of our world is untouched)

Keeps it simple and exciting. Otherwise the mer race could be a Falmer (Snow Elf or Betrayed) but I think this isn't ready yet. I'm sure Dwemer will be kept a mystery.

I'm sure all playable races will be kept to being a humanoid shape so that alienates Sloads and Tsaesci. Imga are apparently too stupid to be a playable race.

I know you end up seeing snow elves in the Dawnguard quest line, but I would really like them to be a playable race in the next game. Bethesda could say that the Snow elves managed to repopulate Skyrim and that there is now a problem that is beginning again between the Snow elves and the nords. That is an idea for a future DLC but the next game really should add them in as playable characters.

The new game when it comes out (not Online) should take place in Elsweyr and introduce the human Akaviri as well as Snow elves. It might be weird having snow elves all the way in Elsweyr which according to lore is a land filled with lush forrest's and huge deserts.

I also think there needs to be diversity amongst the races.

A human Akiviri could introduce a light armored sneak / archery / assassin type build which is lacking at present from the human races.

A Maormer I guess would be a warrior build similar to the Orsimer but without block and without heavy armor. They may have illusion as their skin is apparently Chameleon in appearance. Maormer could have clubs, spears and even blowguns as their specialised weapons.

Falmer (betrayed) I'm guessing would be heavy armor with one-handed, block, archery & destruction.

not if they pre-introduce their race in a skyrim DLC :D

but I do agree with the Elsweyr it would be awesome to see all the different types of Khajiit.

weren't human akaviri wiped out?

only according to TES folklore which means it could be inaccurate. It isn't a TES made fact. This basically means it's still an option if Beth' choose.

Its's like the Nord folklore during Morrowind that Reikling snow goblins are the Falmer. We then find out in Skyrim that they are nothing to do with each other and that the Falmer still exist living in homes beneath the surface.

I think that we have three European themed human races. We have an African (Sahara) themed human race. The only thing missing is an oriental themed human race.

To me it makes sense. Especially with all the references in Oblivion & Skyrim to Japanese themed humans with regards to the Blades. The wall chart in the Blades temple shows Akiviri humans and we have the Blades armor which again is human. That so far is the best hard evidence of the Akiviri that we can see. All the rest is just folklore.

I sure I read somewhere that there are giant turtles in the seas off Summerset Isles because I think it says in Maormer lore that they sailed to Pyandonea on the back of them. Not sure about dinosaurs being there though but it is possible. Especially as it is an island separated from Tamriel so its wildlife is probably a lot different. Pyandonea is I think supposed to be tropical paradise.

Thras of the Sloads (also in the ocean off Summerset Isles) apparently has underwater cities.

If there were new races, I'd say there should be 3 (one Mage based, on Warrior based, and one Thief based), and to fit that I'd say

Warrior- Dremora
Honestly, with the Dremora, they're not all insanely powerful. I don't see why they're not included. As for their initial stats, my guess would be something like +10 Two Handed and +5 Heavy Armor, Destruction, Conjuration, Smithing, and Enchanting. Their ability would be a command Daedra thing, and they'd have a natural +50 Stamina (like Altmer have +50 Magicka)

Mage- Snow Elf
Well, with the Dawnguard add on, I'd say it wouldn't be asking too much to see a larger colony of Snow Elves living in seclusion, and to see them represented as a playable race. Their stat bonuses would probably be +10 Destruction and +5 One Handed, Conjuration, Alchemy, Sneak, and Archery. They would have a natural 50% Frost resistance and their ability would be something relating to that "Snow Elf magic", maybe a temporary increase to how much damage Destruction spells do.

Thief- ???

Can't get behind the Dremora. The Oblivion Gates are closed, so it's not like a bunch of them will be piling into Tamriel from now on anyway, nor are they likely to become shopkeepers or anything like that.

Besides, can you imagine the opening of Skyrim if you were Dremora?

Hadvar: You from Oblivion, Daedra? Captain, what do we do? He's not on the list.
Captain: He goes to the block.
Hadvar: By your orders, Captain. I'm sorry. We'll be sure to send your... Oh, wait. Your remains will go back to Oblivion on their own. And you won't even really die will you? Honestly this just sounds like a momentary inconvenience. Never mind.

I suppose you could make a Dunmer, wear Daedric armor, and put red face paint on to make believe your Dremora. You wouldn't have the horns though.

we already know they were real, there was a massive war between them and the tamriel races at some point, as shown in that one quest in oblivion. but the common belief is that the tsaesci ate them all a while ago or something.

but thats where the blades originated from I think.

I'm iffy with Snow Elves becuase of Frost Resitance, that would kinda leave the Lord without anything special beside Battle Cry.

I always thought the dunmer were kind of oriental themed considering the gonloa and rice hats. I really miss the giant fleas too. you never see any really busy cities crammed with people and never any large battles/wars! It would have been cool to have alot more sea ship involvement where you can become a sailor or pirate etc
