Normal Vampire vs Vampire Lord

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 4:14 am

We've been talking about vampires as a whole, there are over 9 clans in Illiac bay alone and a supposed 100+ unknown vampire clans, I'd doubt that in 200 years the Cyrodillic vampires ousted out all other bloodlines and claimed total disease dominance and not only that, but they'd rename themselves to an extinct clan of Vampires situated in Skyrim that don't share the same Tenants?

Hell I doubt a Cyrodillic vampire would put up a decent fight against any other vampire bloodline, their ability is to blend in to society, remember, an immortal can afford to be patient.

Edit: That article is titled Volkihar or The Order, they're not one in the same.
Yes but that's how they could have done it. Remember that quest in oblivion the vampire in charge of the vampire hunters (aka there a vampire clan here and here go kill them etc etc.) and while they don't share the teniants it's possible they may be outcasts that didn't follow them to begin with or in a way the order split up into smaller ones and spread out claiming old clan names for the scare factor in the local populace there's a lot that could have happened in 200yrs after all. Btw the or indicates that it could be ether of the factions as they share simularities and there no vampire history saying which clan have been wiped out. Hell it's even possible that the Volkihar are the vampire lords.

I probably wouldn't use that Wiki as a source...

Anyway, Dire, Cyrodillic vampires wouldn't expose themselves as such otherwise their charade ends. A Cyrodillic vampire against any of the clans mentioned in Daggerfall/Morrowind would lose, these are monsters that excel at being monsters rather than as imposter humans.

As I said these are theories as only the people that made the game would know. :/ still there better be some lore on the vampire lords to explain all this :P

The current Vamps are built around a Nightblade build but this Lord is a completely different thing. I dont think it is the same vampirism at all since the transformation would oppose the ideal of the stealthy build we have

Exactly, that's why we're debating, because if the lore is half arsed then people will point it out faster than just sitting here and waiting till the DLC is released.

Still the disease in morrowind had three different types (clans) and is there a date to when clavicus created his strand of the disease? If not that means those vampire in daggerfall still could have been the type from clavicus. I'm also wondering if it adapted to the environmental or regional changes.
Daggerfall had nine clans of vampires all of whom could blend into society. Morrowind was the exception not the rule. Folks should remember that much of the written information on vampries found in-game had an author claiming to be a vampire.

Oh and as the perk tree u don't spend points for them, I think it's based on how many kills u get while in that transformation

Ooh okay thanks for that, makes much more sense.

Vampire Lord is just a transformation. It just said "Race: Vampire Lord" in that video because the player was one at the time. I'm sure if they exit the Vampire Lord form it would say what your race from the beginning of the game was.

The Gamespot Interview at e3 with one of the developers says that dawnguard also effects the vampires found in skyrim, giving them an overhaul.

Yeah, we know. I really hope for new powers like "Reign of Terror". But I also do not want my vampires eyes to change from the ones I have in my avatar to the bright glowing eyes that Harkon has -_-.

I've heard that stage 4 blood starved vampires will no longer be attacked in public, but that Vampire Lords will (obviously)... May just be hearsay.
Fixed.
Dear god I hope so, I like this idea cuz I hated being attacked at stage 4 when I hardly looked different -__- just didnt make sense to me tho I can totally understand being a damn winged demon from Oblivion come to murder everyone why I would be attacked...

(Still hoping for the cosmetic that if you are wearing a helmet that covers your face no one will know you are a vampire)
