Off the wall things that bug you...

Gremlins in my house that like to throw stuff off my tables and across the floor, it's gotten to the point where I just pick up most of it and stuff it all in a dresser drawer. And along those lines, chests and dressers don't sort stuff like corpses do.

Horses attacking everything. I have to quicksave every time I dismount in case my horse decides to run off in a random direction and get killed.
I spent over an hour filling a kettle in my house with assorted gems. I loved the way they sparkled in the light.

When I re-entered, though, they were scattered across the floor :(

I also don't like the inability to walk around while talking.

The changes to the camera controls. Why can't I look at my character while running anymore?

Forced 3rd person view on horses annoys me intensely. The way you`re forced to bobble about on them is like being drunk and stoned at the same time.

I don`t ride horses any more. Put my last one out of its misery.

My horse runs off and attacking everything is very annoying ^

[rant] My biggest annoyance would be the game constantly picking the wrong damn dialogue option so have to save before every conversation and listen the same dialogue over and over again. You would think it would pick the option that is highlighted, has the symbol next to it and that I actually clicked on but no. Made worse by the fact that I actually care what option my character picks even when it has no bearing on anything and its not like you can really role-play through dialogue in this game.

Stuff that is more minor: The horses seem kind of...bouncy? also it forces you into 3rd person, they get in the way during fights, they aren’t fast enough for me to be bothered with them and apparently my character is a dike and forces her companions to run after her while she is riding a horse. When you run with a bow drawn you character waves their hand around for no apparent reason. When you sprint while dual wielding your character looks like they have been watching too much Naruto. Enemy AI, especially with stealth. The fact that you learn the Companions are
Spoiler
werewolves in the first real quest you do for them and then become a werewolf shortly after.
The lack of storage organisation tho thankfully I’m on PC so mods fix that. Not being able to set things like follower distance, aggression level or weapons. Right after killing a dragon outside whiterun with the help of some guards one of them turns around to me and says "My cousin is out fighting dragons while I'm stuck on guard duty.” For God’s sake man, we just killed a dragon! What did you think it was? Tho admittedly that was more funny than annoying.

Really hmmm. I know they had different speeds because the black and white were the fastest. They were not draft horses tho. The horses in skyrim are draft horses and are not built for speed. I would have liked to see more options other than slow. It seems to me that the horses in skyrim sprint no faster than i can. There is no reason to use a horse in skyrim is the point i am making. They are just as fast as people on foot and they are horrible in combat situations. A true waste of 1000 septims

I had a very high athletics skill , i'm sure that also contributed.

I love how eeeeeeeeeeeveryone I go up to and commence conversation with just turns their head 90 degrees to speak to me over their shoulder rather than actually turning towards me.

I've never noticed that issue in any other game - even Oblivion. Bugs me and makes the initial informing/beginning of a quest seem so unimportant when the questgiver is just like... oh yeah... you're not important enough to face.. but go risk your life for my crappy shield mk?

Man I feel your pain on the dialogue. I havent selected the wrong one but sometimes my selection does not register and i have to hit the button several times before it registers my dialogue.

I did get annoyed at the bug I had on the companions quest Hired Muscle. The guy I had to rough up ws sitting calmly at a table and not making a ruckus at all. If i spoke to him I got no dialogue options, if I punched him 15 people rushed in and tried to beat my ass plus I got a bounty. The companions quests were needing this one quest to be done so I had to fail on purpose and just kill the target to push everything forward.

I was so mad that when I got back to the companions base i jumped on the table while 5 or 6 of them were eating and ran around the table scattering food, dishes, goblets all over the place. Doesnt sound like much but trust me, it was a moral victory.

Or how about when a bandit kills you, then immediately addresses your corpse with, "Can I help you?"

Lol, never had this. I do however get this kind of stuff with thieves. Thief Khajiit: gimme your money. Me: I don't have time for this. Thief: Don't you walk away from me! then May you walk on warm sands then Never should have come here!

Off the wall thing that bugs me the most is storage organization, but I'm pretty bad about that irl so... wutevs. Getting 'all' on accident after spending 20 minutes organizing all my loot makes me want to throw my TV out the window, good thing I have booze.

This happens to me sometimes too, soooo annoying!

I spent over an hour filling a kettle in my house with assorted gems. I loved the way they sparkled in the light.

When I re-entered, though, they were scattered across the floor :(

This might help: Drop everything you want to place out of your inventory, don't try to move them then. Leave and go exploring a bit. Come back and arrange your stuff. It should stay in place after that. It worked for me.

As far as storage goes, the one thing I do like is the cases for weapons. In oblivion I spent HOURS arranging daggers and swords in one display case. I got them perfect and headed out to do whatever and when I came back they had all slid into a pile at the bottom of the display case. Still in the locked part but just all gathered against bottom wall. Mannequins make displaying armor better. Do wish you could put whatever you wanted on wall mounts. Heads, skins, etc...

Along these lines, I am kinda peeved that you can't stick necklaces in the display cases to set em up like jewelry vendors. Instead anything you try to put in em just hovers above the display case. Same thing with bookshelves. But nonetheless I am happy to have the bookshelves and display cases.

Returning to the subject of the horses, I think that Bethsaida did a very poor job in creating their horses. Their horses, when seen from the rear, look like fur-covered bricks with tiny-weenie legs that don't gait but hop. Horses have one use - if you are too loaded and can't run, you can mount a horse and get where you want to go.

I don't want to bash either, but I cannot help mentioning the ones that drive me nuts most. I am absolutely sure that no one other than the porters at Beth tested the PC version. If they played it for 5 minutes after character creation then they would have spotted the buggy user interface. It is impossible to miss those bugs and quirks. It doesn't matter whether I use the mouse or the keyboard and which precautions I take, sooner or later it goes wrong. Dialogue, inventory, spell list, shop: They all have it. It results in making the wrong choice or close the screen. So to prevent that I save the game before using one of those. And I curse when it goes wrong again and need to reload the game. I am convinced there is no quality control at Beth. And if those people do exist then maybe they all got the flu in the weeks just before Skyrim went gold. *shakes head*

I am also convinced that no one at Beth really cared about how that user interface should behave on the PC and if it required any changes to make it user friendly for the PC. Yes, most likely there are mods that address that. But relying on those goes a bit too far. That's an attitude problem.

I have a 1920*1200 screen. So one should think I have enough room for the menus of the inventory and magic screens. Yet, they start half way on the screen (vertically) and I need to scroll up to see them all. Every. Time. I. Open. One.

I really hope these will be addressed in the next patch. But I prepare for the worst.

Beth's bug fix team is much like the Spanish Inquisition: They fix the bugs you least expected.

It drives me crazy not being able to start or finish a quest, for that matter having a quest item that you cannot drop also drives me crazy, like a briar heart for instance. One other thing is stolen items don't have a separate listing there all just mixed together which makes sorting a [censored]

It bugs me that I actually like finishers. I hated them back when they were confirmed to be in the game, but they amuses me. Damn! They make me feel like a 12 year old kid :swear:

(Besides that I strongly agree on everything above...)

The fact that any beard (aside from the beard that are "painted on") is suspended from the top lip.

There is a gap where the facial hair does not even connect to the top lip. I see it every time I view my character from the side.

It is horribly annoying.

When you are listening to an NPC and another randomly starts talking to you.

^ This. Also, one of the quests required me to drop the quest item. Thankfully it worked... after I tinkered with the active quests menu. There should also be a way to determine what is stolen and what is not, and what should constitute as being stolen. A home of a dead NPC, well, okay, but at least the city could recognize his death and not leave it abandoned.

The only off the wall thing that bugs me is the amount of negative comments on a forum designed for the people who purchased their game.

Bandits attack me instantly, what if I had a business proposition for them that would make them millions, but nooooo they have to attack on sight. Also, enemies are always annoyingly over- confindent, "Start running so I can stab you in the back" "You picked the wrong time to get lost friend" That the best you can do" "Sovngarde awaits you" the list goes on.
