parents won't let me play.

Post » Mon Jul 16, 2012 5:35 pm

It's MA here in Australia. 15+
In France, it's 18+.

As to what the op should do, well, just comply and wait. If you have already bought the game, you'll still be able to play it in the future. Ordeal by patience here! :)

Doesn't sound complex. Mom wont let kid play Skyrim.

I'm talking about for myself at this point. All I'm saying is, sometimes you have to make an honest judge of your parents, perhaps it is a wrong judgement, perhaps you will feel differently when you are older, but you do have to decide for yourself.

play it in secrecy. fuq da police! the question is not who's going to let you, it's who's going to stop you.

What if she comes home early or wakes up in the middle of the night or sees the disk or notices the steam purchase on her credit card?

I was playing resident evil at 6 years old, if you can handle what you are seeing people shouldn't label you under a number.

Sit down with you parents, show them some gameplay of the internet etc if they just outright say no there is more too it than what the gamestop man said.

I was playing GTA2 when I was 10, and Resident Evil 2 around the same age. Played Mortal Kombat when I was 5.

Not that that helps you in anyway, son.

^This.

I wasn't allowed to play M rated games until I was 15. I just complied and didn't bother them about it. I was happy with my Sly Coopers, Jak and Daxters, Pokemans. Just being patient is better in some cases.

My first game was Halo rated M, I was 7.

Yeah, well you know how ratings are these days. They give Call of Duty and Halo the M rating.

The OP never did give us their age...

For all we know it's a 9 year old boy hoping to play Skyrim so he can strip a female Forsworn tribesman and get a peek at that burlap underwear.

This pleases me.

You act like a 18 year old wouldn't.

Well, he has Morrowind and Oblivion, if you are old enough for those two games, he is probably in High School

The first Halo was rated M despite it really being more T rated from what I have heard. I know the Super Smash Bros games should be rated E10+. Is a freaking fat man farting and Pikachu beating up Mewtwo deserving of a T rating?!

Yeah, the thing is, with Halo, while there was a lot of killing and blood, the blood wasn't very graphic, the violence wasn't over the top gory, like in God of War, there was no six whatsoever, no language, no drugs, no alcohol, nothing glorifying inappropriate behavior like GTA, and the sci-fi feel made it feel a little cartoony, not like spongebob cartoony, but like a this-doesn't-feel-like-real-life-violence kinda way

In my case I feel it easy, but as I said, I just tend to forget some grammatic rules from time to time. But yes, I only practice it here, not in my work or daily life, so, always a second language is not as good as the homeland one.

The cover is also a bit suggestive... Oh wait, that cover was the norm for fantasy fiction.

The rating is there to make people aware that offensive material is contained within the game but as it stands you really can't change a stubborn parents mind. I know, I tried in the same situation.

Trust me OP, not only will you probably thank your parents later, you really aren't missing out on much.

In fact, most of the people who could pay M rated games when they were really young ar now pretty weird people (at least the ones I know).
