Starting a new game does svck. But if this is the case? can't argue with it. Unless they release a 2nd patch that fixes these saves? who knows for sure.

Loaded game after patch and knew it was not going to be good seeing that a dead powder ganger was instantly launched 15 feet in the air when it loaded, froze when i tried repairing some stuff in my inventory. So I guess it's time to start over and see if that works. :flame:

I'm waiting too........until the GOTY edition hits the bargain bin. That way, I'll get all the expansion packs, and all the 1 or maybe 2 patches, all on 1 blu-ray....without having to waste any time reverting back to old saves and loosing 10s of hours of gameplay or having to put my PS3 upside down so the game doesn't freeze...ok i made up the upside down part, but you get the point.

I haven't had the V.A.T.S. glitch, but what keeps occurring is the game keeps freezing on me. It doesn't matter if I'm in Jacobstown or on my way to the strip entrance. It will freeze, even if I'm just walking. To me, it seems like 1.01 is just a quick band-aid to a major wound.

Honestly, I'm pissed about this. I spent around $100 for this game, and [censored] it, I want to play it.

Seems that a fix has been attempted to no avail. I walked into the bunker and saw the paladins open a door and let me in.

The only problem is that the intercom is blocked, the door further in is a key door and the door out is a key door.

They need a buddy reset function.

I've started a new game now three times just based on wanting to get to know the game WITHOUT playing via the guide. I had only encountered one glitch before the patch, and that was when switching armor at times my character would be invisible save for whichever weapon he had equipped was visible. All I had to do was re-equip the armor. Other than that, for nearly a week i did not crash ONCE.

Now that I was forced up upload the patch I cannot fast travel or use VATS. If I do successfully fast travel the game (after the loading) starts with a black screen. I have THE character I wanted and everything is going along smoothly, now this patch is literally driving me insane.

I have tonight where I have the TV to myself, no Vampire [censored] Diaries or 90210, Hellcats or any of the ANNOYING horsecrap shows my fiance makes me wait through. Tonight was MY night to relax and I was stoked with the update. Now that it's not working I am literally sweating and grumbling and wondering WHEN THE F--K am I going to get my chance to play this game...

This is good, information I mean. If Bethesda or Obsidian truly read these forums they will need to know if this patch fixed what it was intended to fix and what this patch made worse. Until we get the Patch Notes! we won't know what 1.01 intended to fix. Try not to go too hot headed. They'll ignore that part.

I got Online and downloaded the patch. Trying it out now in a new game.

i got the patch, and my rep with NCR and BoS is now neutral, I was liked with NCR and idolized with BoS.... I try to fast travel to hoover damn for "for the republic, part 2" and everyone is hostile!

Sadly, this is the case for me as well.
I never had the V.A.T.S. problem or really any other problem except for constant freezing and crashing. The freezing and crashing is still happening.

I'm going to move my current game save over to a flash drive and get rid of everything and then reinstall the game, start a new character and see what happens. The thing is that I'm not sure if it's really a fair test. My game crashes didn't start until I was around 40 hours (I currently have http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i181/rainmagick/DSCF2978.jpg invested) in to game play. I'm not really looking forward to starting all over, getting another 60 hours in and having these problems show back up. =/

Anyway, since the patch didn't work for me, I have no choice but to try.

Installed patch, seeing no change.
Deleted game data, reinstalled game data and patch. STILL no change.
Texture stuttering, frame rate stuttering, impossible input lag in medium or large battle scenarios. Boone and Rex still magically disappearing.

And a new one: Now the game occasionally locks up at the damned title screen.

Has this patch hit UK/EU yet?

I've just finished another session in New Vegas with nothing unusual to report (asides I have no idea how to talk to Veronica, all I can say to her is "Goodbye"), but I didn't have to download anything. Maybe it hit while I was playing, or hasn't hit these shores yet.

Doesn't fill me with great optimism reading through these threads, but hey, I'm a Fallout 3 veteran, bugs are my friends...

Yay!!! I can play at 1080 again!!! I've been playing for 3 hours at 1080 since the patch and no "black screen"!!!!

Still stutters though. (No worse than Oblivion of FO3 though..)

The patch (version 1.01) was released in Europe first so you should have had it installed days ago.
It goes pretty quick so you might just have missed it.

Before the patch I had it freeze up maybe 5 times in about 20 hours of play. Unfortunately, I ran into several in-game glitches (incomplete-able missions/faction reputation glitches/disappearing NPCs/XP not adding). Therefore, I started a new game after the patch hoping AT LEAST SOME of these issues would be cleared up. If anything, it's worse. It's already frozen twice in about 3 hours. Nicely done Bethesda....

I never played FO3, but heard so many good things about it so got New Vegas. I'll play through FOVN the best I can, but I won't be purchasing any DLC or sequels. At this point I'm debating whether putting the game to bed for a few days and hoping for another release or just returning it.

Hmm, I shall have to check. If so, then I'm definitely not having freezes every 15 minutes or problems with VATS. The odd bit of slowdown, sure, some NPC oddities I can't quite get around yet. Bizarre.

I have a game breaking crash where whenever I try to enter that ladie's house in Novak (Campbell, the hotel owner) there is an invisible line that crashes the game. I had the same problem in FO3 in Point Lookout. Could not cross this line. Unfortunatley, it happened before and after the install of the new patch. I haven't tried to walk straight into town, both times I turned right to her house. I was curious if the patch would have fixed that. I've also had NPCs dissapear, teleport, items dissapear and reappear. I think that the bugs are saved on the save data, not the game data, and there fore the patch wouldn't fix that. Bummer too, because I just completed Come Fly With Me, and that took a LONG time. I don't even think I got experience for it. I'll try some more tonight.

I got the patch and played a few hours last night (I got today off) and I am not impressed. Now at first it looked like they got it right, seemed like the graphics moved faster and everything felt smother, but as soon as I try to fast travel anywhere, I get the load screen with the wheel and it just stays there forever. I let it sit for about 5 minutes and the PS3 restarts itself. Bethesda still has some work to do if you ask me.
