Fallout: New Vegas-Aliens

Don't forget about Calvert, Calculator and Simon Barnaky.

Is Tactics considered canon?

I haven't heard contrary to that but I haven't really heard that it was either.

I don't really care much one way or the other, Tactics struck me as rather meh.

It's semi-canon. Whatever that means.

I think it's like this:
Basically, everything is canon in it as long as it doesn't contradict other canon.
So the Talking Deathclaws are not canon in Tactics.

well, if there is an area 51 easter egg, then i'm pretty sure there will be at least some alien bodies/destroyed aircrafts.

Area 51 is not in the main game IIRC.

'I don't give a care"

Really though, I voted behind the scenes. I love to get an eerie feeling when playing games. And if There has to be test-tube babies to do it, Then so be it!

Well, whether we want it or not (I actually loved Zeta) aliens/alien references will be in the game. I would post proof but for obvious reasons I'm no longer allowed to link it. :whistling:

If by Aliens you mean Wanamingos, Then Yes Please, Do add them :3

If by Aliens you mean Mothership Zeta Style, Then DLC/BehindScenes Please, Or atleast have an Area-51 DLC for that matter.

No, don't, they're confirmed as extinct.

Are they? I know they were eliminated from Redding...or whatever mining town it was they were in...but that doesn't mean they're extinct.

The eggs you see in Fallout 2 are the last generation of Wannamingoes to exist in the wasteland; the young Wannamingoes seen in F2 will perish in five years, and their parents a few years before that - an internal genetic clock will simply stop ticking, and they'll fall over dead. The Wannamingoes are a vicious mutant breed that had their moment in the sun, and now their sun has set.

To put the tombstone on their extinction, the largest known nest of Wannamingoes were wiped out when the Great Wannamingo mine was reclaimed by Redding with the help of a traveling tribal. The mother was killed, and the last remaining eggs were hunted down, stepped on, and then the remains were examined by local scientists and doctors who came to the extinction conclusions mentioned above.

Extinct.

Purpose

The idea, initially elaborated by community veteran Dan Wood, was to create a document that would serve as a total guide to Fallout: the history of the setting, the elements that compose it, the things that define it and the rules that guide it. It would also serve to tie off loose ends left by the games and to generally do some clearing up of things. It was certainly a good idea, especially as the prospect of someone who wasn't Black Isle making Fallout games grew ever more real. However, it really didn't work out that way.

Result

Instead of being a definitive, unambiguous guide to Fallout, Avellone's Fallout Bible became a sort of long question and answer session with fans emailing reams of queries to him and getting answers. Avellone would also usually toss in interesting bits of information about the games and original design documents, including the official Fallout timeline. Avellone made some mistakes here and there, many of which were corrected in later issues of the Bible thanks to fan feedback. The whole project was cut short when Avellone had to leave Black Isle.

Basically it was meant to set up what was canon.
And it was only later that it turned into a Q&A.
I've yet to see anything that contradicts this part of the bible so I will consider it canon until someone can come up with official facts for them not being extinct.

I think it would be awesome to do another alien theme like area 51, but not really do it about aliens. I think it would be cool to go to area 51 and find out that the enclave have taken it over and that is where their advanced tech is coming from and do another broken steel type attack with the brother hood against it.

It was Redding, yes. Since there were also some in the San Fran tanker without the presence of a queen in sight, it's very likely that there were more than one of those. I mean, the other FEV project turned out to be pretty resistant, too. ^_^

€: I wouldn't take the Fallout bible as granted in regards to what happens in or after Fallout 2. Not anymore. It was about the idea of the Fallout world after very possibly no new games would have ever come out.

Extinct.

I'm saddened to hear that they are extinct. I hope there is another batch or something...but it sounds very unlikely...ah well, I'm sure Obsidian can come up with something just as good to replace them.

Mutant Cannibals perhaps....where's that guy who always posts links to Mutant Cannibals? Was that Styles?

PS

I like that idea too Steve, as long as the Enclave contingent doing the testing was pretty small. Perhaps they hire out local thugs to bring them food or something and that's one way you can find out about them.

Yep it's me :D http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Mutant_cannibal

The fallout Bible says that Wanamingos are extinct and Christopher Avellone made the Bible right? He's also a Dev so I don't think he will bring them back. Would be nice to have them back. I know they are not aliens but they are the closest to "Aliens" I want in Fallout.

It would be great to have floaters back as well as the proper centaurs. Maybe the floaters will be back. Has it been confirmed they won't be? Also has anyone seen the FO3 style centaurs?

If only the gnome were here. He said he saw them so we gotta ask him what they look like.
