do you mean like solving a murder.
i would love a quest where someone is killed and you have to find out who did it. by following clues and interviewing suspects
it would be even better if who the actual killer was is left ambiguous. like you can accuse any of the suspects and the one you accused is punished, but the game never actually specifies who did it.
therefore its all up to who you believe did it. everyone who plays may have different opinions on who did it and why they did it. it would be fun to argue on the forums about who actually did it.
i would love a quest like this
Whodunit? Was a great twist on the old murder mysteries like you are suggesting. Everyone is stuck in a house and people are turning up dead. Everyone is trying the find out "who done it" as they get more and more panicked, accusing each other, trying to get out of the house, old rivalries and tensions coming to the surface. The twist of course is that
you aren't looking for the killer - you ARE the killer! The quest is a complex, free form puzzle where you try to isolate and systematically murder everyone in the mansion without arousing suspicion on yourself. You can talk to the NPCs and goad them into being paranoid about someone with the right "evidence" to support your claims. You can plant booby traps, or poison an apple, or whip an NPC into such a frenzy that they murder another NPC themselves, thinking they are performing "justice" on the killer. Come dawn, you casually stroll out the front door as the sole survivor.
Hands down. Though "Brush of Death" comes close for pure spectacle.
