The more unique quests.

Im curious as to how many people liked the tranquility lane quest of fallout 3, Or if you have played TES4:Oblivion the quest A Brush with Death.

Would you like to see another quest similar to these in fallout new vegas, If so why?

And this is my first topic so if this has been posted before, or if there is anything wrong with it feel free to lock it as i won't object.

yes i would like unique quests.

of coarse not every single mission can be as awesome as tranquility lane. you need non-unique missions so that the unique ones stand out. (by non unique i dont mean bad)

"A Brush with Death" and "Tranquility Lane" were both awesome and unique, but shouldn't all quests be unique? Not to the same degree as the aforementioned quests perhaps but I would like a lot of variety, yes.

I rather enjoyed Tranquility Lane and hope there are more unique quests in this one. "Unique" is subjective, but what I liked about TL was it was so different than the Wasteland and I really felt into that quest. Especially with the Slasher twist.

PS- Pennywise is freaking me out right now! Tim Curry is awesome

Agreed sometimes a quest needs to just be plain, it makes the ones like Tranquility Lane much more special.

do you mean like solving a murder.

i would love a quest where someone is killed and you have to find out who did it. by following clues and interviewing suspects

it would be even better if who the actual killer was is left ambiguous. like you can accuse any of the suspects and the one you accused is punished, but the game never actually specifies who did it.
therefore its all up to who you believe did it. everyone who plays may have different opinions on who did it and why they did it. it would be fun to argue on the forums about who actually did it.

i would love a quest like this

Surprisingly i would love a quest like this. It may mess with my head if i didn't get the right person, or if you find out who did it but the person would pay you off to accuse another person for the crime.

I'm all up for unique and even the occasional silly quests but I do agree that all quests should have a tint of uniqueness to them. Something to make sure they don't feel like a 'waste of time' in the game.
I would cheer for a whodunit without an ending explenation to who actually commited the crime. That would be something I would murder for. Just kidding.

yeah, tranqulity lane was the best quest in fallout 3, in my opinion. I would give 10/10 for uniqueness, dilemma and environement.

shame that there wasn't equally good quest in any of the DLCs..

That would love that, I always wanted a quest that was like a Twilight Zone episode, or maybe one that would do the same thing that the original Halloween movies did....they would scare you, pat your hand and tell you everything is going to be all right, and then stab you in the throat.

Yep, I liked Tranquility Lane. I consider Operation: Anchorage in a similar vein as well because of the brand new environment and capabilities you are suddenly limited to - even if the main focus was combat while the other was more of a big puzzle. Hope to see more like that in New Vegas. :fallout:

Spoiler
I believe they have a quest like this where Boone asks you to find the one responsible for his family's demise. You have to find the person and bring them to the Dino so Boone can snipe them. I pretty sure you can bring anyone follow you whether they were involved or not.

Tranquility Lane was a unique quest all right but it wasn't my favorite. That would probably be either the GNR one or the Wasteland survival guide simply because It gave me a chance to explore the game some. I mean, walking into the Super duper mart and battling all the raiders when all I had was a cheap pistol and a bat was one of my most memorable gaming experiences ever. I would love another mission like that, as well, as some quirky ones like TL.

yes but in that quest you can find out who actually did it. and has already been confirmed who did it.

in the one i fantasize about they would leave the identity of the killer ambiguous. thus leaving us wondering if we were right in our decision of who actually did it. i would love a quest that made me stop and really have to think before making a decision. and i think the one i mentioned above would do that.

Am I the only person that found Tranquility Lane horrible? First time through it was mildly interesting, on any other play through it was a case of "you want me to make him cry?" start heading towards Timmy then say bugger it where's that abandoned house again?

So yes to interesting and unique, but please think of replayability, as Tranquility Lane didn't have any.

I have to agree with LoneWanderer715. It wasn't TL, that did it for me. The first time I went through the Dunwich building. That was cool.

Or at the end of the game when it gives you the things that happened due to your choices in the game it would state wether the killings stopped or not. If they stopped you'd know who the killer was, if not then you can always replay and try another person. That would add to the whole replay value of the game. Maybe even make it where diffrent things happen when you chose the wrong person. However it was done the only true way to know who the killer was would be by getting the final statement at the end of the game that the killings stopped.

i do have to agree with you.

it was fun the first time, but after that it was just boring.

which is why we need more open ended quests.

That'd be cool if there were a lot of guilty looking suspects so you wouldn't be like Oh it wasn't A? clearly it was B then.
