Missing tha Freaky Deaky

Why would there be an option for both? The idea is that you're going to find something silly here if you have the Wild Wasteland Trait. If you don't have the Trait then they need to put something there instead or else whatever that thing is will just be an empty space. It wouldn't make sense to have both.

Anyway, this whole topic is going to be a bunch of opinion. To me there's just as much weirdness in NV as FO3, so I don't get the argument. The only thing I can think of is that some people are picking up on the fact that the look, feel, and tone in NV are slightly different than those in FO3 and are a little thrown by it. That's fine, but I can't agree with the argument that NV is somehow lacking weird and silly things compared to FO3. I would agree that NV contains fewer implausible things than FO3, but to me that's not the same thing and is an improvement.

yes an empty space....one of the MANY already all over tha place could have been perfect locations

my guess on why you dont get tha argument....its not an argument? atleast not as i posed it...was a discussion....

talking about and exchanging ideas = discussion

argument = contest....and i posed no contest

however it can be entertaining when people dont like something...instead of moving on or going away...they feel tha need to compete with it and accuse it of being negative things so they can seem to have a point

just a discussion....if it "seems" to be anything else...that YOUR minds interpritation (this is directed at all and not just this person i quoted)

1. I'm not getting you're trying to say here. It seems like you're just side-stepping my point.
2. Perfect for what?

my guess on why you dont get tha argument....its not an argument? atleast not as i posed it...was a discussion....

You made a statement (which can also be called an "argument") and I disagreed with you. I'm not allowed to participate in the discussion unless I agree with you?

however it can be entertaining when people dont like something...instead of moving on or going away...they feel tha need to compete with it and accuse it of being negative things so they can seem to have a point

I do have a point. Do you? You keep telling people that they're misunderstanding you. Perhaps that means you should explain yourself better. Why are you getting combative here?

just a discussion....if it "seems" to be anything else...that YOUR minds interpritation (this is directed at all and not just this person i quoted)

So, make your points more clearly. So far I don't get the point of anything you're saying, I guess, and I don't seem to be the only one. This isn't meant as an attack...if you want to have a discussion you need for others to be able to understand what your points are.

Super mutants in NV are basically a different species. They are leftovers from the Master's army instead of mutations from some vault experiment. So they look like Fallout 1 & 2 supermutants instead of the capital wasteland supermutants.

OMG I hated lamplight. Little invincible kids insult you and your only options are basically say "thank you may I have another" or "come on, I'm not THAT ugly and stupid "

If you aren't allowed to kill them at least let me insult them back.

Harold was a throwback to earlier Fallouts, they gave us Marcus in NV.

Problem is it isn't impactful because the morality system in FO3 is nearly useless and without real consequences or impact on the story. You can go pure evil and you still end up helping the BOS one way or the other.

And none of it mattered anyway since you were an invincible Demigod. Even on the rare occasion that you got into a tight spot, it was no problem because you have 75 stimpacks by level 10 (that INSTANTLY restore your health and fix damaged limbs).

FO3 was a fun game but even on the "very hard" setting, it was maybe a little more difficult than Backyard Baseball.

You want Rivet City and Gary in FONV? That wouldn't be repetative at all... By the way the reason the Super Mutants look different is because they are the original super mutants from California.

Sorry I accused you of wanting another FO3. Yeah, the mutants were originally made at Mariposa Militay Base in FO1. They tended to be a lot smarter and less hostile (FO2). I geuss bethesda thought it would be cool to make stuped, angry, yellow ones with the excuse that they were made with a different chemical. Also, the reason there is no Behemoths is that the west coast mutants don't grow in size over time. And, if you didn't know, Nightkins are just super mutants addicted to stealt-boys.

you can discuss all you want...disagreeing doesnt make it an argument....you called it one....and i was just saying i wasnt making an agument

I do have a point. Do you? You keep telling people that they're misunderstanding you. Perhaps that means you should explain yourself better. Why are you getting combative here? im not simply making an attempt to clear up any misunderstanding....why are you telling me im doing things im not?

peoples lack of ability to understand is not my fault....please dont impose reposibility for lack of some one elses ability on me....i can not make people see or understand things

since some people have made it a point to tell me im doing things based on thier lack of understanding i will pose my obsevations in turn...what i might being seeing is "i dont like it and/or i dont understand it so it must be wrong and/or bad"

its nots difficult to tell me you think i wrong or some opinion i had differs from yours....but telling me im doing things im not doing seems shameful to me

if you dont understand just ask

ahh that makes sense...i thought something was wrong when in FO3 all tha super mutants was like....Hulk copies...didnt like that to much....i was like no way these guys are seriously being that uncreative in making thier characters..there must be some difference between tha mutants in tha different areas

No, apparently the FEV (chemical for making Super Mutants) in Vault 87 was different than the FEV in Mariposa.

He just wishes there where more funny things in the game.

Well considering that Obsidian has developers that made the first games, I guess this is how fallout is supposed to be. We can't tell the artist (artists) how to paint their painting, but we can comment and critique, which is exactly what your doing. But "less funny/wacky stuff" isn't a flaw, because funny and wacky stuff is totally subjective, I thought that the giant mantises where funny, that and the robot museum, and how all of the NCR where drunk and throwing up everywhere.

I even saw an event where 2 NCR women and men started dancing with the [censored]s in-front of Gomorrah, all the dudes where cheering the female privates on, then they all ran into Gomorrah, that was pretty cool.

once again...i am not putting funny and freaky as tha same thing....also i am not wishing anything...i only asked....like i said before....i dont want FO3 or any of its stuff in NV...and i am certainly not wishing or demanding...or hopeing...or asking....or complaining....or disliking change....i was only wondering why...and curious about peoples opinions....there is plenty of funny....i was just curious about weird thing...and weird seperate from funny

what i would rather do is ask tha devs what was on thier minds when contemplating changs as to understand thier thoughts on it....but unfortunatly all i can do is ask people who play on tha forums what they think

curiosoty on reasons thats all....i like NV just like it is....im not makeing a critique on a painting....im looking at two paintings and seeing differences and being curious as to what went on with tha artist when they made changes

Ah ,Ok then cool.

I would think that Bethesda has a different writing and development style than Obsidian, considering that they are better known for The Elder Scrolls. And even if TES and Fallout where in the same setting, they would feel different.

I'm actually pretty good at deciphering what people are saying, but you keep changing your mind about what you mean by things, so please forgive me. Also, you need to understand that people are going to have different opinions than you are. Don't attack them for it. You're accusing me of being rude, but from where I'm standing I'm being a lot more polite than you are. Again, why can't people disagree with your points without being accused of making stuff up because they don't like what you're saying? Is that what you accused me of, or am I, again, not understanding what you're saying?

Just ask...ok...(I thought that's what I've been doing, but here goes). Can you please explain what the difference is, in your mind, between "freaky" and "funny," and explain why you think NV is missing these things? I gave you some examples of these things in NV and you told me they weren't what you were talking about. You keep making statements about these things and then when people reply you tell them they don't get what you're saying. Then you say, "it's not my fault you can't read lol," or something to that effect. Perhaps if you tried to be polite and clarify the point you're trying to make (or ask about, or whatever your goal is here...it's not clear) you'd get a better conversation going.

i did attempt to clarify.... for example when some one said "he justw ants FO3" i carified that i do not.......i never changed my mind....and the word freaky and funny are two different words with seperate deffinitions....i cant be held responsible if people want to mash together word meanings...they are word you can look up deffintions for....i dont think i need to explain MY deffinitions being thier natural deffintions explain the difference quite well

to add a couple more....

items laying around stacked up in interesting posistions...books and bottles stacked up in shapes and what not...and stuff like that spot where it looked like a person was triying to climb up a wall with plungers

talking armor....is there any in NV?

oh ya one more....off sized objects...like tha giant teddy bear and numerous other things in FO3....in NV so far i found a huge green plate but thats it

OH. Prominence? No, but they ARE in the game, but most of the cars you encounter are detonated, or crushed and so on.

Edit- The whole point of the explosions is that if the car has been intact for 200 years and is a NUCLEAR car, it will be unstable as all hell. That might be why that one undetonated Chryslus is sitting on the south end of The Strip.

Why would it? They are Fusion powered, much more stable reaction then fission. So all your Microfusion cells are 200 years old why don't they all act as grenades when you get shot?

That's not a clarification...that's...never mind. The word "argument" can just mean "a point you were making." It doesn't have to mean "disagreement." I wasn't calling the discussion a disagreement, I was referring to the point you were making about the content of the game. Total mis-communication.

Argument, n. - a statement, reason, or fact for or against a point: This is a strong argument in favor of her theory.

Anyway, never mind. :wavey:
