What gender is the Courier : Fallout: New Vegas

Silly question. My courier is female. Yours might be different. The story was written so it works for either six.
When future games come along there'll presunably be a canon ending but I expect it will be curiously vague about the courier themselves as opposed to what they did.

I'd suspect "canon" would probably be male.

But in game/to the player, whichever you choose, and to me, that's all I'm concerned with.
