The verdict is in. I just bought Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines at d2d for $4 and some change. I'm getting the Witcher or the first Dragon Age Origin next. The hard part about the last 2 games is that I've mainly played shooters. It's going to be hard to go from an AK-47 assault rifle to a sword. I wonder how long the curve is to make the change?

Excellent choices I'd say. Especially Vampire...damn, what a fine game. The characters...I love every single one of them.
Sebastian LaCroix, VV, Mercurio , Therese and Jeanette, The chinese ...herbs...dealer...ahem. The dark quests and the often multiple ways
to solve them...A fantastic game, and not too bad for somebody with shooter-experience.
But I strongly recommend to search the I-net for the latest Fan-patches. They eradicate most bugs, bring stability and even add some mising content to the game. Worth it!
Witcher is also nice, both of them. Great "hero", also great dialogues/characters. And it has pretty black humour sometimes...
And Dragon Age? Well, still one of my favourites today. Say what you want, but since Baldurs Gate I cannot remember a similar game...
maybe Neverwinter nights 2, but thats it.
