Careful, in some parts around here that sort of thinking can get you flamed to the point of 3rd degree burns.

Yes, because someone I don't know, most likely not at all, will definitely have some kind of impact on me by blasting off berating comments.

I used to be a newbie brought in by Fallout 3, then i took a TES in the knee and became a regular :hehe:

Haven't seen this forum change that much during my time here, Skyrim boards are just in the typical post-release chaos. Give it a little time and you can find intelligent discussion there. Why just yesterday there was an interesting discussion about the ethics of soul trapping.

Morrowind was a good game and all, well above a lot of crap, but it wasn't the second coming of Messiah.

You doubt the power of Morrowind! :stare:

(Just kidding :P)

Fallout 3 forum was the same, only smaller.

Boy, I had to fight off a lot of BoS fanatics!

*Makes a 3060 word Topic in the Skyrim section*

*Gets bumped down to 2nd page within 5 minutes by < 20 word topics*

You have to realize the whiners are not playing the game, and the ones who are enjoying it are not really posting about it - they're playing!

So obviously it just -looks- like it's negative.

This happened on a lesser scale with Oblivion, FO3 and FONV.

People nowadays not only think they're entitled to complain, but that if they write well, they're somehow correct in basing their own opinions as solid facts. This almost always leads to a level of fear-mongering. And just like in a horror movie, folks get carried away when that happens.

The Steam Workshop argument in Skyrim Mods is a perfect example of this. We have no information, yet the community is divided between the "leave it alone, till we know more" and "ZOMG Bethesda is the devil" groups. There shouldn't have to be sides. We should just be able to have rational conversation, without reverting into 2 year olds.

The only way you can keep it off the forums is massive waves of bans. But that's not the way... and that would be worse than the problem.

It's the World of Warcraftization of gaming at it's worse.
