Paarthrunax situation? possible Spoiler

Paarthurax is prolly the main NPC you will need to defeat the Thalmor. With his help, you can prolly allied with hundreds of dragons that are currently alive then all those dragons will ally with the Nords (Since you are the Nords' Hero) then, with your dragonic and nordic friends, go slaughter those filthy Thalmor people!

Congratulations you've now destroyed the only path that other dragons had aside from destruction and conquest. For thousands of years he's followed the Way of the Voice and lived peacefully. He could have led other dragons down that path. If Paarthrunax had claimed he felt no temptation I would have killed him right there. Admiting its a struggle is admiting he makes a genuine effort.

So, a murderer kills thousands of innocent people and then decides to become a monk and somehow this excuses every crime he has committed?

Haha no, I killed him the first chance I got. I've killed him and I'll kill every other member of his species. As the Dragonborn it's my duty to ensure that the people of Skyrim are safe, and having a Dragon who is constantly at war with himself live is out of the question.

I did feel bad about killing him, but it's simply too risky to allow him to live. He may have great ideals but who can say how long he would sing that tune now that he seems to wan't to rule all the dragons? Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely or so they say.

Besides, it's not like I wasted him, I used the scales I looted off him to make myself a set of dragonscale armor, now it's like there's a piece of him always with me <3

I'll admit, I like Esbern. I just hate how he wants me to kill Paarthuraxx.. Delphine can go jump off a mountain... Wait, she did that already for me EXCEPT I helped her with a little Fus Ro Dah.

So I go to this "Truce Conference" I got the same spiel. I saw the same stuff. I saw both sides of the civil war bicker back and forth, and knew this wasn't going to be the end of it. Then Sonja is supposed to kill Paarthurnax. Okay so Paarthurnax killed thousands. He's no saint. Who is Sonja to judge him? Sonja has also killed over 1000 people and she's what? not even 30? She's a killer, too. Face the facts. She and Paarthurnax are not much different. Esbern is okay. I think the VA for both Esbern and Delphine was fine. The script? Yikes.

So reload and fought the civil war. Did Fallen, and now on to the last part of the MQ, and I'm done with this one until the DLC.

Really? Fable is one of those that has improved, imho.

Fable went downhill.... Guns and Magic should NEVER mix.

I don't play the Fallouts. I grew up in the era when we were taught in grade school how to "hopefully, maybe" live over an atomic attack. My family worked in the atomic and defense industries. I really haven't any interest in games which are set in a US where the "worst" I grew up hearing about and planning for actually happened.

"Duck and cover" Yes I remember those drills. I lived in a town that was well within the range of the missiles that were being put in Cuba, and since there was a SAC base and arsenal nearby we were a prime target. The neighbors had a fallout shelter. Dad said it wouldn't do any good. I was wondering if I was going to make it to 10 yrs old. I remember the fallout alerts during one winter when we were told not to play outside because the radiation levels were too high, and I remember my parents stopped buying milk and dairy products because of the potential Strontium 90 in it. But I played Fallout 3 and Fallout NV anyway. I think living in that era twisted me. It was a simpler time when we lived in fear and learned to ignore it after a while.

Sonja received the instructions of what to do to kill Alduin from Paarthurnax, and how to trap a dragon from him as well. She never went back to Sky Haven. When she got to Whiterun and Odaviing took her to the top of that mountain, and she got to Sovengarde and saw Rikke and killed Alduin with the three, she was returned to the mountain top to Paarthurnax for that cutscene with all the dragons, and conversation with Paarthurnax and Odaviing. Then went to the Sky Haven Temple, and no one was there. It was empty. Everything in the temple was marked "Steal". So she stole the Dragonblade, and book that told where all the dragons were, and went back to Windhelm and that was where I did my last save game.

She put the Dragonblade, Chillrend (used to kill Alduin) in display cases and I went to bed. I'm done for now and waiting for DLC. Delphine and Esbern were nowhere to be found. I'm guessing Delphine went back to Riverwood (I didn't check).

Sonja has killed 1070 people. 23 of them considered murders. I'm guessing that a majority of the 1070 considered themselves innocent victims as well. Over 400 creatures died by her hand. She's no better than any of the dragons, especially considering that not even a game year has passed.
