There legacy never died though, they were the fore fathers of western culture, there whole entire culture and law system is still present around the world, Rome in spirit shall never fall!!!
Yadda yadda. A lot of which they stole from the Greeks and the other cultures they pillaged. I also don't consider Roman law to have been an improvement in northern Europe, but that's off topic.
IMO I think the writers at bethseda did not think this one through.
It does not make any sense whatsoever to assassinate the emperor when it doesn't involved in the main storyline, the civil war. It has no impact whatsoever so what was the point behind the assassination of the emperor? Right after I killed Titus Mede II and went to windhelm to try to speak with Jarl Ulfric (including Galmar) he didn't even acknowledge the death of the emperor. It was a strong disappointment.
It's a bit jarring, to be sure. My assassin just didn't do the civil war quest line. Not about to be treated like someone's grunt.
