Both Titus Mede II and Prince Attrebus also have same personality, in some ways.
How do you mean? Attrebus is impulsive and a bit emo. Titus Mede II seems very tired, resigned and kind of fatalistic. That might be natural character progression of someone who's old and ready to go, but I don't get where there is any similarity.

In the books, Prince Attrebus wasn't much of a fighter and was scared a lot when fighting comes around. Though he did changed a lot since over the years he had learn many lessons.. Actually, he learned a few lessons during the whole Umbriel thing..

In Skyrim, Titus Mede II requests you to kill the person who contacted you AND then walks up to the window and looks outside, away from you so he doesn't see the killing blow. Both reflects Fear which Attrebus had within himself as well.

Mede II makes that request. I don't do requests. It's bad for business. So, Mede II gets his throat slit, I go collect my money, and it's all there, and I go home.

I did the Request because I feel bad for killing him =(

It is to make way for a stronger Emperor who will finally take the battle to the Thalmor. Noticed that Mortierre tells you that you have done the Empire a great service, not him, the Empire.

What greater service than to get rid of an old spineless fool who squanders his own empire and throw his citizens to the wolfs.

The DLC will have you help the new emperor take on the Thalmor, mark my words.

Astrid comments that the guy hiring in the DB was using them to "advance his position" or something to that effect, basically saying the Emperor was being assassinated so he could take over (or someone he wants to take over who will favor him in the Council).

Though it's just as easy to chalk it up that Titus Mede II was seen as incompetent and hated by a lot of Nords for the White-Gold concordact, and so removing him was paving the way for someone they felt more pleasing.

thats exactly wat i thought

No. Titus Mede II is Prince Attrebus. Prince Attrebus's father is Titus Mede I AND it even said in the books that Prince Attrebus is the next Emperor in the line-up, after Titus Mede I. Thus making Attrebus into Titus Mede II.

Wrong. Titus Mede II is NOT Attrebus Mede. Take this into consideration, the whole Umbriel incident, took place 170 years before Skyrim. Attrebus was already in his 20's, and nearing his 30's by then. He'd have to be 190+ years old in Skyrim, which Humans don't live that long in TES series.

It might be that Attrebus ruled for some period of time after his father Mede I, had a son with Annaig who ruled and the family went through a couple more generations before getting to Titus Mede II.
That's exactly what happened, especially considering the 170 year gap between the Umbriel incident and Skyrim, and the fact that a new family generation usually occurs every 20-25 years.

As to above, look up the Emperor Timeline. Some Emperors lived longer than they should. Their Battlemage prolly did something. Hm?
Yeah, their Battlemages sure did do something alright. Jagar Tharn, the Battlemage of Emperor Uriel Septim VII, trapped Uriel in a magical stasis within a Oblivion plane, and impersonated him as the Imperial Simulacrum. That's the only reason Emperor Uriel Septim VII lived so long.

Firstly, I already said this. Annaig prolly did something to help him live longer. That is what happened and stuff like that happened before.

Also, not every Battlemage is like Jagnar Tharn. Saying they all are is like saying all Argonians are Assassins. I bet my money Annaig prolong Attrebus's life and I still say Attrebus is Titus Mede II because it sounds highly possible if you read up your info before 'attacking' someone.

Trust me, when I first began reading this sort of stuff, I wasn't believing it but after so long.. It is quite possible...

Dude........what?

I would love to see you elaborate on this mindset.

The Thalmor - or rather the extreme sects of Altmer in general - do not believe they are mortal beings. They believe they used to be divine. The god Lorkhan (the Nordic God Shor) tricked the divines and shook the entire "galactic" status quo and used them to create Nirn, and by extension, humans. Nords specifically see themselves specifically as "created beings", with Shor as their father-god, while Mer don't see themselves as mere "creations". They see themselves as being related to the divine. It's a huge distinction in mindsets.

Now that out of the way, the Thalmor want to undo the work of Lorkhan, destroy Nirn, and regain their immortality. This is their ultimate goal. It's not merely political. The reason why they ban Talos worship is that he's the biggest affront to their beliefs. He's man who has achieved exactly what they're looking for. A place in the heavens. Their first step here is merely to demoralize humans from thinking they could ever attain such feats. Only the divine can be divine, in their eyes. And if there's anyone who should ascend to the gods, it's Mer. The only way they can ultimately do this is not by politics, but destroying everything Lorkhan created - the universe itself, basically. If that's the case, TES is over, as we know it.

I don't see that as fear, rather the opposite. A fearful person would beg for his life. He's pretty stoic and/or resigned in the DB scene, as I see it. Anyway Attrebus wasn't really fearful, he was full of himself and then insecure when he realized the game had been rigged for him- and then heroic by the end.

Like I said, it could be Attrebus, assuming he got some sort of life extending magic. It's just speculation, though.

I still have a good feeling it is Attrebus. They prolly planned this since they begun working on the books. You know?

If they planned it that way, wouldn't they make the books set closer to Skyrim game time so that it would clearly be him?

I'm glad you finally got around to answering/posting. I was going to try, but you're FAR more conversant with the lore than I am - I would probably have messed it up ROYALLY.

I hope so! I would really like to stick it to those Thalmor if you know what I mean. Rebuilding the Empire from the ground up, or in Skyrim's case, from the throne up, would be a great 1st DLC addon in my opinion.

sheesh, the Thalmor agenda reminds me of Hitlers regime. Completely insane, they will only bring destruction to themselves.

The Dark Brotherhood doesn't deal in the "whys". He's paying you money to eliminate a target, that's all they really care about. The fact that it bolsters the reputation of the Brotherhood is a bonus.

I'd imagine he wants to rise up through the ranks a bit. Seems simple enough.

Actually, the Dark Brotherhood (once you complete the Quest line and bring it back to the Old Ways...) doesn't even really care about the money. It's the Souls that get sent to honor Sithis that matter. The money helps in the rebuilding, yes, but it's the notoriety and the Soul itself that are far more important to the Brotherhood than mere money.

"The Dark Brotherhood is not in the business of staging deaths, no matter how much money is offered. Sithis demands blood, and blood must be paid." -Vicente Valtiere in regards to the request by Francois Motierre-

Their goal is actually plausible given the mythic significance of things. It's still completely bonkers because they have to kill the entirety of mankind(And probably the orsimer, dunmer, khajiit, and argonians), but it is possible that it would work were they unhindered. Erasing the ideas of mortality and creation isn't a simple task.

Wouldn't that be problematic for those who didn't kill the emperor or killed the Dark brotherhood off?

They can make the assassination canon even if the dragonborn wasn't the assassin. The DB did it, no one knows exactly who, etc.

I know i'm all to familiar with how bethesda works in that area  i just meant as a dlc it seems like it would be hard to implement without effecting the old questline.

This just means some extra dialog about someone else killed the Emperor off-screen.
