Right, so here is another update on my adventures.
After getting a good night's rest at the Inn in Falkreath, I awoke with the goal to relocate. Work is too scarce and I need a more stable place to be. Before I can do this, I need to figure out where I am to go and how to get there.
For roleplay sake, I do not use compass or map. So after scratching my head a bit I realize there is a map in the Jarl's longhouse that is used by the imperial commander there. I look and see that the closest town is Riverwood. Just a short distance to the Northeast. I realize that if I just follow the road, then make an appropriate right when I get close to the huge lake, then I will be on my there. So I had down the beaten trail and say one last goodbye to Falkreath.
The road is long and arduous. Playing with no music is very nerve wracking, since you cannot tell the difference between some birds in a tree or a SKELETON foaming from the mouth out to steal your soul. So I patiently walk my way down the path, walk pass a broken tower, walk by some ruins that have, what I believed, to be littered with corpses. For obvious reasons I didn't investigate.
I make my left at the road split and I find... A horse.
All by itself. Not teathered to anything, no sight of its owner or rider. I stop and look the beast over.
I could take the beast and use it for transportation. But would I IRL? Yes. I am pretty sure I would. So I make a quick glance around, make sure the coast is clear and I saddle up. Also for roleplay sake, I am remotely familiar with riding a horse, so it seemed appropriate.
So I am wabbling along on my new furry friend when I am greeted to 2 very mad bandits. Mean looking ones. They draw weapons and begin sprinting to me. I think one may have said he was going to do something with my bones, I wasn't really paying attention.
So I flee, back track, sprint pass the 2, my horse gets a nice side swipe from one of the bandit's axe, then I am home free. What is sad, is that along the road I saw the same hunter who I met when I made my journey to Falkreath. The same woman who I stalked accidentally.
She was lying face first in the mud. How sad. Well now I can take care of her horse for her.
So I escape the bandits and find a nobleman on horseback with Imperial escort. I attempt to ask for aid, but then the Imperial soldier said that I had broken the law!
He drew his weapon and demanded that I go to prison! Now I did not say that I would, "Rather die than go to prison." I just ended the conversation because I did not understand what he was talking about so I decided to try to mind my own business. He stabbed my horse in the butt with his sword.
How professional. So now I escape this insane Imperial Soldier and am getting close to Riverwood. Pack of wolves attack, I flee with great haste.
I finally get to Riverwood. Tiring journey. I get to the inn, sit down, eat some food, have a drink, purchase a room and relax.
An hour later I decide to look around, maybe find a woodcutter's axe. Who knows?
I find my axe and have a conversation with an Elf named Faendal. He doesn't like some man named Sven. So he asks me to sabotage Sven with some letter.
Why he is asking the newly arrived Imperial is beyond me. So I sell my old war axe, deliver letter and buy some clothing that doesn't make me look like a just escaped from prison.
Darkness falls and I retire to bed, lay my axe and shield in the chair next to my bed, hide my dagger under the bed, leave my boots on the floor and get some much needed shut eye.
