This game has no sense of being a explorertreasure hunter

So you think smithing and enchanting is fine the way it is?

As long as you don't grind them and exploit them, then the game is fine using these skills. The game is fine even if you grind these and exploit them, just not as much of a challenge.

This game defintely allows a guy to explore and treasure hunt. i`m afraid the accusation that it doesn`t allow this is absolutely wrong and shows a total misunderstanding of what exploration and treasure hunting is about.

Treasure hunting and exploring is not about finding unique items. It`s about finding enough stuff like gold and precious items (not unique) that you can sell to make it rich!

Rich, ok. Rich to do, ummm.... what, exactly? Buy awesome weapons and armor and stuff useful in the game? Nope. Just rich to roll around in it, I guess. Not my bag.

In Elder Scrolls Oblivion and Fallout 3 I used to collect unique weapons and put them on display in my home. I can't do this in Skyrim because every time I walk into the house I find them in the middle of the floor. Could be Lydia I suppose, jealous of all my collectibles.

You need to drop your items you want displayed on the floor, then go out and save/re-enter the house. Place them where you want in the house now and they'll stay there. If they don't then just grab them and put them back on display, they should stay there this time. But remember: don't put them back in your inventory during this process. Otherwise the house for some reason won't recognize their positioning and just drop them randomly somewhere.

If you do however pick them up, repeat step 1 and try again.

The source for this, you wonder? my own experimenting in Breezehome (ps3) and learning this little trick by myself, heh.

What I think is written in my comments. I do not substitute best with unique. I then do not treasure what is the best, I treasure what is unique. Do I think Enchanting and Smithing are fine? With regards to treasure hunting and the possibility to create items better than what can be found, yes, I believe it is fine. Why do I think this? Because I believe that anyone who spends a lot of time mastering their skills deserve to be rewarded. They shall be true masters and be able to create the best items there are. In the same way do I believe that a treasure hunter should be rewarded with the rarest and most unique items. These can then not be created but have to be found.

No exploring?

Hm, my basemant of bodies from each dungeon I have been to would disagree with you. Speaking of that, it is starting to fill up the the second floor; might need to take out some of the trash.

One of the main reasons why Skyrim's exploration leaves a lot to be desired is a lack of good respawning, 30 days is way too long. Everything being random doesn't help although that's a good thing, you won't need to worry about always getting the Boot of Bloody Bounding in X dungeon (Unless it made sense in that dungeon). Probably my biggest problem with KOTOR was the fact that the items were the same everytime I went through the game.
I have a bug that make enemies in front of dungeons ingredients never respawn. Also my alchemy ingredients never respawn in areas and clusters and no plants respawn I cities ever. I tested on two games one before 1.4 and I made a new character after 1.4 and these bugs persist.

I also agree the thirty day respawning is way to long for the world for repopulate it gets very tedious after a while.
