Remember the good ol' days?

To me, Morrowind was a good game, and I was able to play it for hours on end.

Oblivion... well, it svcked.

So when I saw that ES V "Skyrim" was due out, I yawned and went back to work. If I had expectations, they were pretty low, based on my clearly demented opinion of Oblivion. Eventually got the game because my fond memories of Morrowind outweighed the poor ones of Oblivion. Now, I'm glad I got Skyrim, it's not as good as Morrowind was, but blows the doors off Oblivion.

It was a big let down for me. At first. I loved Oblivion and what I wanted was Oblivion with a different story and setting and 2011 graphics. Stupidly, I expected that and was excited about getting that. But then the nature of Skyrim was too different from Oblivion, and it infuriated me for a couple of weeks whenever I'd try to play for a few minutes, I'd quit. They tried to fix something that wasn't broken (imo).

But now I love it. One of the greatest games ever. I play it all day.

Sure, I see flaws compared with other games, especially Bethesda games, but I see flaws with any given game, when comparing it with another given game. Nothing is perfect. "Perfect" is a subjective, mathematical abstract that can't exist in the real world. And this game is FUN. What's "wrong" with it, doesn't out weight what's great about it. To me anyway.

So yeah, I expected and hoped for something different, but wound up loving what I had gotten anyway. Wish that happened more often in life :)

Resounding yes

599 hours since launch day, and I just got my 50/50 achievement about 3 hours ago... and I still haven't role played being a nightblade, scout, crusader or monk...

The monk is going to be fun... a Khajit with enchanted heavy armor gloves running around in his underwear and a heavy armor helm.... yeah.... that will do....
