the most useless shout in skyrim

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 7:33 am

Every shout with a long recast. Sorry, but as good as ice form is, being invulnerable 8 out of every 12 seconds (become etherial with two Talos buffs) or stacking marked for death on tough opponents or using throw voice trumps all the "use a shout and wait a few minutes to shout again" shouts.

I do. I haven't found any enchantments to be worthwhile compared to the raw weapon damage you can achieve.

Elemental fury only checks your left hand weapon when dual wielding. So put your power enchanted weapon in your right hand and a fast non-enchanted weapon in your left and shout away.

Elemental Fury i find it really usefull for my warrior, since i can hit a target during the shield bash at least 6 times. The useless one i will say is the Animals both of then the one that make animal run away and the one that make it friends i never use it

Pretty much most of the shouts are useless but it doesn't stop me trying to find them all.

Whaaat? Run up to a giant with mammoths in tow and use the animal friend shout. Get your mammoth whisper on. After they destroy the giant, ALL will bow to the Mammoth King. Roam the plains of Skyrim and gather more mammoths to your herd. Soon you will have an army and your enemies will know fear before the end. All hail the Mammoth King!

Elemental Fury is worthless because you can't use it with an enchanted weapon.

I was excited about Storm Call, but then I tried against a Dragon. I could see the lightning hitting it but there was no damage done. Very disappointing.

I think it has something to do with proximity in breaking stealth, Aura Whisper does the same thing for me if I'm too close. It doesn't work on all NPC's, nor should it I think, but it works for most of them. I've used it to send an entire cave of bandits into a corner, just for the lulz really, and I'll occasionally shoot arrows in the other direction at a wall just to watch them run back and forth while waiting for cooldown. Come to think of it, archery is iffy on occasion in close quarters too. If I shoot too close to a hostile NPC, it sometimes breaks stealth as well.

Proximity does factor into stealth, and using certain "stealth" skills too close can still cause you to be detected. Think of it as similar to how a gun's silencer works: It doesn't completely eliminate the sound, but it does reduce the report to a quiet whisper.

The same applies for firing an arrow: Nocking one is soundless, but if you're too close when you let it fly, it might negate the sneak attack bonus because the sound got you detected before the arrow struck.

Upside is that the better your sneak skill and stealth game improves, the closer you can get without being detected for perhaps taking a clean shot with an arrow.

Throw Voice for me, it has no use to me, at all.

Marked for Death. My arrows tend to tear enemies apart well enough on their own.

Dargons, an old and very powerful race.
There language could call storms, make fire and even slow time.
But their greatest shout?

"Hey skeever butt!"

Can't you just do a Wait to bypass the cooldowns of long shouts so you have it for every encounter?

It's actually quite useful but on the topic of Shouts I wish Kyne's Peace didn't effect giant bugs. It's taken a lot of the spooky factor out of the game and I wish I'd never unlocked it.

I lol'd hard.

I dropped three Desto traps earlier, and sent some bandits into them with Throw Voice... corpses were flying everywhere. Bandits are idiots.

I am now trying to run a whole fort of bandits into Dawnstar with Throw Voice.

Stupid bear keeps diverting thier attention though.
