Dwemer machine in dead guys basemant #3

Heh. I reckon the staff at Bethesda are sitting around making bets as to how many threads this will have started by the time the PC version comes out.

Wonder what the total is up to.... :D

I can confirm this. There is NO pathway behind the machine so the machine could just be a highly locked container or nothing at all.

How do I know? Game glitch. The Static Corner piece (where the journal is at) didn't load when I enter the cell so therefore, I was able to use Whirlwind Sprint to fly out in the abyss and go a peak behind the machine before teleporting back up to the ladder. I however did not got a good enough peak to confirm if there is an item or not within this machine.

I think the point of the machine might be that we are meant to become as obsessed with it as Hrodulf was (I know I certainly am...).

To every one that is saying there is nothing behind the machine: If it is anything, it might be a door to a ruin or another area, in which case there would be nothing behind it, you would have to activate it like a door to a house or any other dwemer ruin. You can't glitch into a major city, you have to go through the door or it will just be blank space.

what we found could be a power source to a city apparently they all have them
and are described as being similar in shape to what we see in the basemant (don't ask where I read that because I can't remember it's also verry likely I imagined it) or it could be an entrance way to an undiscovered city like you suggested

If that were the case, the map inside the house would have shown a door.

Seems all the newbies (to the thread) are going over everything that has already been tried and tested. As for the rest of us, the mutual agreement is that is is either for looks or is part of an unfinished quest. Pictures have been posted, various things have been tried and many ideas and theories have been put forward. Despite all these, nothing further was found. As such, I still feel pretty confident in saying we've reached the end of hat we can achieve here. Glad to see the topic is still drawing interest, though after 3 threads I think we're at the end now :)

sad to say I think you're right :( I mean collectively between is we've tried every shout in the game every weapon alot of different enchantment all the unique weapons/artefacts having different things in the chest infront of it and in our inventory all the spells you can use we even tried the plate glitch and nothin has happened. shame really looks like it would have made a fun quest

I think this is a hint (or maybe the beginning?) of the next DLC where Talos the Dragonborn finds his Numindium.
