Power armor predictions

It should also dehydrate you much quicker in hardcoe mode.

I don't see it. (as was likely mention) the effort to move [unencumbered] should be the same as without it, and while I don't know for a fact (or link)... Its a fair guess that the armors have internal electric ACs'. :cold:
(Should have a water reserve as well really).

I think alot of you are waaay overestimating the power of the fo nv power armor.

nope. if a casers legion guy takes in a slighlty armored kilt takes minimal damage from an over and under shotgun. then imagine how strong power armor will be

Just wondering.. Do you think most people choose to wear power armor? I was never a big fan of it but I assume lots of people wore it exclusively...
It never fit really well into the scheme of a thieving stealth type character to be clunking around in power armor. F1, and 2 I usually did end up wearing it towards the end battles.. But F3 I never wore it.. I usually ended up wearing the Ranger armor until later levels.. then it really didn't seem to matter what I wore.

I strayed over to the Brink forum yesterday. That game's going to have this S.M.A.R.T. system that lets you interact with the environment by vaulting and sliding and stuff. Something like that would be good for balancing out power armor - most moves would be impossible to do in the cumbersome armor.

I hear you there. I rarely use it. Especially not in F3. I like stealth and picking my enemies off with strategy, and not just being overpowered enough to demolish everything. Power Armor is no fun to me.

Despite what the wiki says (you can clearly see in one of Gamespot's gameplay demos that it is using 20 ga), the Lever-Action Shotgun fires 20 ga shells. I think armored football pads could probably stop buckshot from a 20 ga shotgun. Power Armor will probably be immune to shotguns, but they probably can't stop an endless barrage from a mini-gun or some higher powered bullets. Smaller bullets will get the job done too, but much slower and costlier.

Load that shotgun with slug ammo and it would put two massive holes right through power armor.

vs dt style armor a shotgun loaded with buck or even magnum loads wouldnt do very good as thats still a dozen or half dozen seprate fairly low damage pellets.

You ever been inside a plastic tent during the summer?
Well, imagine being inside a metal armor in a desert.

Or do PA have cooling systems?

According to the Chosen One in FO2, (Enclave) power armor will even recycle your urine for you. PA not having temperature control seems awfully unlikely to me.

But, 300 years into the future, would the system still be functioning?

Yes, if the suit is properly maintained.

Mind, Enclave suits (if any) would be much newer - to the tune of twenty years at most. We know the game has the Enclave plasma rifle in, so we might see Enclave PA.

I'd guess that the inside of PA has a special gel that molds to your body and adjusts the temperature of the gel based on your body-temperature. I read somewhere it has special waste-recycling systems, the gel idea isn't too unbelievable. Especially in the Fallout universe.

Well the T-45d has an undersuit (Which is what the Recon Armor is) in Fallout 3. So I would be lead to believe the T-51b has a similiar suit, I can't recall his name off the bat, but the one Brother who guarded the elevator to the BoS base in Fallout had a hood thing akin to what the Recon Armor Helmet.

As to someone mentioning PA dehydration, thats iffy. because I read on something in one of the games that the T-51b recycles urine to make it drinkable in the field, so it apparently has something similiar to a mini water purifier.

Cabbot (voiced by Richard Moll ~Bull on the sitcom Nightcourt ~Two Face on Batman the animated series).

Sounds like a Dune reference to me.
