Professions you would like added

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 10:25 am

Nice! Where's my arena, Bethesda? :swear:

I'm currently working on a Pit Fighting mod now if you're on PC. I plan to add questlines with fist fights against both beast and man. Or, you can bet instead and earn your fortune by gambling.
Thought you wanted to know. There's a link in my signature.

As people have mentioned, there's always the oldest profession.

For the Dragonborn who needs to support that Skooma habit.

Yep, there are no professions. Except for Smithing, Enchanting, Alchemy, Mining, and Woodchopping. But other than that, no professions.

Cook: go to the inn, ask for work, combine all the ingredients you fancy, give the meal a name, sell it to the customers. They can either praise you for the job or give you a good beating.

Combat&survival trainer: people pay you to take them with you on the road to teach them the secrets of hunting, fighting and tracking beasts. They are genuinely beginners, so it's your job to protect them, they are not good fighters like the companions.

Comedian: tell people jokes for a coin. The result depends on minigame skill (something like Mass Effect 2's hacking minigame, some pieces of text floating and you must click to associate them in a particular order) and npc disposition.

Trollhunter. Maybe Innkeepers give an option like a bounty but for trolls destroying areas/killing people and you could kill them, and build up your "Trollhunter" rank. Of course, it'd be much better as well if there were really high level and different trolls. Idk I like the idea.

Yep, there are no professions. Except for Smithing, Enchanting, Alchemy, Mining, and Woodchopping. But other than that, no professions.

You count them as professions? Woodchopping, you press "X" or whatever, watch a 10 second animation and repeat. And repeat. And repeat. And then sell it for minuscule amounts of gold.

Smithing? That's a skill. Not a profession. You could try and RP a blacksmith but it's not an actual profession.

Mining? Not a profession. Yeah you can sell your ore but that's about it. You can't live the life of a miner.

Enchanting is a skill. You aren't an 'Enchanter', you do it to improve your armour/weapons or make a profit. But you don't solely spend your time enchanting do you?

Alchemy I guess could be considered if you wanted to RP by spending your day foraging for ingredients, then making potions and selling them.

I've said this a few times before, but what the hell : seamstress. I can make armour out of anything from goat hide to dragon bones, but can't knock out some noble clothing or a wedding wreath?

Personally i would like the idea if you can start your own town, and pay or chop wood for firewood, and get a monthly income from the residents, and hire people to build buildings, sort of like that town in oblivion that kept on expanding. And you would be the mayor, and there would be inns and a blacksmith, but that is just my 0.02 cents.

I want to open my own shop. I would sell model kits so the children of Skyrim could build their very own replica Dwemer automatons. That should shut them up for a while...
