PS3 Release for Dawnguard... #34

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 7:36 pm

I was just in a Dragonborn beta thread that GStaff was posting in, figured while I was there I would ask if they had made any, even if only the slightest bit o progress with PS3 DLC. My post got deleted, if that's any indication of DLC progress or just mods trying to keep all the uproar strictly to one thread I don't know.

To answer your question, we are making progress.

LOL on my daily check of Tweet Hines' feed, finally saw a new tweet. Too bad it was just a retweet of a bad joke.

EDIT: Color me wrong, the Tweet speaks!

EDIT 2: IGN is asking for an interview again.

The bad joke being their handling of the PS3 version of Skyrim?

To answer your question, we are making progress.

Matt,

As a fellow U of M alumnus, is there any way that I can coax you to elaborate on this concept of "progress"? Does this mean that you have a release date in mind? Are you even able to elaborate further? We, the proud owners of the PS3, would sincerely like to know.

However, on behalf of what I assume is the majority of people on here, thank you for the input; the silence has been interpreted as irreverence and scorn.

I wonder what "close" means. Maybe we were on the right track with 1.8 readying the PS3 for DLC? I hope so. Either way, I would say this update means they've made enough progress to release it soon. Good news!

I have a couple questions in a serious note.

1. This progress and the fact on twitter news of dlc does this include the first two being released on PS3 as well as DragonBorn?
2. The problem with getting dlc. Did it have to do with the fact the ps3 wasn't dumping the memory or allocating it properly on loads and such? I ask because loading and reloading saves can cause the system to crash... I've repeated this many many times with a disturbing frequency. I have not however had any of the other major issues aside from this. Such loads and possibly even loading screens maybe partially the cause and reason for the data bloating and so on. I only have an inkling idea about memory because of experience in coding.

Gstaff, they should slap at LEAST the title of VP of PR on you imo. Would untie your hands a bit and i think you would do a much better job...

Another glimmer of hope would be for a PS3 player to get an email asking them to take part in the beta test for the DLC but sadly they would not allowed to discuss that they are part of the beta test publicly.

Well now I'm very happy and more hopeful, I've really wanted a chance to play the currently released DLC for a long time now. Very looking forward to it, if it does get to see release on PS3. Interested to see what the new add-on content specific to PC and PS3 will be, too.

Thank you very much, Gstaff. Much appreciated.

Tweet Hines' title of VP of PR and Marketing - is such a misnomer other than maybe the marketing part I decided to have a little delve into urban Dictionary - some are way more apt (and funnier) that what the PR is supposed to stand for

I went to UoM!

Anyway, isn't there some notes in patch 1.8 that says something about preparing the PS3 for the DLC? Pretty sure I saw that somewhere.

Oh god I hope by "new content" they refer to the current 3 Dlc rather than making us a terrible Ps3 exclusive dlc....

I've been reading some of the IGN comments on the article about the tweet and some of them have some pretty good ideas towards compensation for the game. Perhaps Hearthfire fore free and a buy one get one 50% off deal with Dragonborn and Dawnguard. It's fair, I think.

This may just be me being pessimistic, but I don't think this is going to be any of the DLC's that have been announced so far.
This feels like it's going to be something along the lines of horse armor or some other superfluous thing like that.

Honestly, I doubt that, mainly because I don't think Bethesda are that stupid. It will cause a [censored]storm if they release something like horse armor right now.
