Quick thanks to Josh Sawyer and Obsidian

Yes FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS is a rich immersive roleplaying work of violent survival which is even more fun with patch updates. Doubt i'll use mods since it branches out into so many areas so well from diverse armors/weapons to great faction interaction.

Thanks Josh Sawyer and Obsidian for not throwing in the towel. Like Morrowind and Oblivion this will be another masterpiece that just gets better as time goes on.

I agbree OP i will admit i was a bit skeptical when i heard that it was thr Oblivion folks who were doing it as opposed to the FO3 guys. I have Oblivion GOTY and despite all of the fantastic mods for it i have not really been able to get in to Oblivion, probably because of the way character development is done (having to get beat on to advance from one armor class to the next), as i preffer a system where leveling is done by XP per kill (the sweeper in me ganks everything). All in all i am really happy with FONV especially the hardcoe mode, the different factions and the crafting. All of these things added some depth that FO3 (which is still a good game) did not do. All in all as a new commer to the FO universe i am so happy i stumbled across these games.

I'm glad your enjoying the game, it is good to hear that, however I feel as if the turn-based FO had something about them, especially in the plot. In NV and FO3, I get a small feeling that they are divided in writing it all - like all the writers have written their respective narrative and someone just slapped them all together - much like a group university report. It is still good, but for me there is just something missing.

I am sincerely glad however that you are enjoying it.

NV is waaaaaaaaaay more focused in terms of plot/writing than FO2 ever was. In fact FO2 is probably one of the main example of slapped together for the gerne as much as I love the game.

FO1 on the other hand is a whole other story. Does nothing wrong in terms of writing, stays true to its lore, though IMO also nothing particulary exciting. The FO1 leads took this strength over to Arcanum.

I really like it, it's not 100% perfect but what is and why should I expect it to be.
I like all the side quests, I like the main plot, I like how more skills are of greater use in dialogue and I love the characters.
So I'll just add my thanks too.

Thanks for another great game! I love being able to go where ever I want. To explore. To play a game where it will not be the same the second time through.
