Nothing special - I just know I greatly appreciated all the diverse characters and options (like confirmed bachelor/lady killer perks) as well as Arcade - who I was told Josh Sawyer wrote (apologies if I got that wrong), Veronica as well as Rex and Boone and the others.

More I am a pure fantasy buff and playing FNV was a leap for me. Many friends convinced me to at least try it and to my surprise it has moved up into my top 5 favorite games of all times (and I have been playing games since the Apple 2E computer I had). It made me feel good to see a developer willing to create a game that allowed for a great deal of role playing, tons of flexibility in creating and playing a character, a huge world to explore, a great story and incredible writing. After seeing so many games descending to the lowest common denominator (mass appeal) it is great to be playing such a deep and well created story.

Anyhow just wanted to show my appreciation for the great writing and diverse characters and the chance to really role play my character any way I wanted. Big Kudos to Josh, the writers and Obsidian for a great game. I am up to 80 hours played and still going

Ah no, being extremely sincere. I love the game. Your reply threw me off a bit actually as not sure where my post would indicate sarcasm. Oh I know there are some bugs but since there are plenty of threads on that (and I am sure Obsidian is already aware of that concern) I skipped it. I just wanted to let them know some people are really enjoying the game and really appreciate the writing. Bugs can be fixed. Crappy world design, bad writing, etc., can't.

Personally I love the game and was very happy to see their sales doing so well as at indicates others are as well. For the most part I have heard mainly good things and good reviews for the game, outside of known issues.

A great game with its inherent flaws and bugs. Thanks Obsidian for making a great game (even though I still think Fallout 3 is a little bit better).

I am very pleased with the level detail in the metaphysical world as well. I just wish people would stop trying to troll positive topics by turning it into a FO3 v. NV debate.

Yep. So far (>50 hours in) NV is my favorite new game I've played in years. "Great job" to all the staff at Obsidian and Bethesda. Bethesda, please push back the release if the bug fixing isn't done yet next time. For the sake of your forum members if nothing else.


Yeah, it'd be nice to avoid that here. Nobody wants to get a kudos with a "but" at the end of it. Complimenting the NV crew isn't an insult to anyone else, so can we ditch the juvenile "mine's better than yours" stuff?

I thought it could be sarcastic because NOBODY has ever had a completely positive thread that I have seen. It is suprising to see somebody actually like the game so much that they wanted to tell people.

That's because those who complain usually have something to say. Their complaint. Now that the game has been out for a while we'll start getting the threads from the people who have enjoyed playing it all this time.

I'm currently at 120 hours with my main character - that is how much I love this game. Haven't even finished it yet

I don't think many people realize the immense complexity of a game like this, and I for one realize that nothing that gets released is going to be perfect. I am enjoying this game even more than Fallout 3, and MANY thanks for the new patch, it has done wonders for the stability of the game for me.

After playing Fallout 3 a few times through, I heard about this game. It seems like it was only a couple of months later that it came out.

Yeah! Thanks Obsidian. Did a great job with New Vegas! I like it better than FO3 due to the rule mechanic changes you put in (making the game slightly more difficult overall, and adding hardcoe mode), though I still enjoyed FO3 very much so in its own right. Still, all your work is appreciated, especially all the references you put in to Fallout 1, 2, and even the cancelled Van Buren. I've been a fan of the Fallout series ever since Fallout 1 was released. :fallout: New Vegas only makes me eager for DLC and more sequels. :tops:

New Vegas is definitely better in the character and writing department compared to FO3, but the quests are almost all of the fetching variety and the main story lacks the powerful set-pieces and standout moments that FO3 did very well.

Not at all. Just don't say anything in this thread, just like I wouldn't go into a "thanks for Fallout 3, Bethesda" thread and say, "great job, and I'ma let you finish, but lemme just go over all the stuff I think you screwed up compared to FO1, FO2, and New Vegas. Number one..."

Outside of the fact that it would derail the thread with yet another argument between folks that prefer FO3 and folks like me that prefer NV, it's just the wrong thread. :shrug:

Fallout 3 and New Vegas are perfect for my OCD yet ADD personality....always will be in the top 5 of all time fav games for me.....Very few games can you honestly put well over 100 actual playing hours into and still not be half way done with finding everything and completeing the quests.

For my opinions on the other matters....see the XBox forum....lol

In the many years that I've been gaming in the internet age, I have yet to visit a game forum without seeing dozens upon dozens of complaints and "threats" declaring the game in question to be nothing short of a disaster, a ripoff, and the beginning of the apocalypse. They are ALWAYS the loudest and most persistent of the bunch.

If I were to believe them, then I would have to conclude that there hasn't been a worthwhile game released since Chess.

Luckily for me, I am capable of appreciating things and don't feel the need to yell and scream every time something doesn't precisely meet my expectations, or may have a problem here or there.

I gotta say, I've had very few problems with FNV. Certainly I haven't encountered anything game breaking yet.

I don't doubt that there are problems.

My point is that there's no reason to pee on our parade from your ivory tower. We're just having fun.

Yes, a big thank you to everyone involved in making New Vegas :celebration: I love it just as much as 1-2&3 good job :goodjob: I'm at 100 hours on my first character, just met Yes Man so I haven't played to much of the main quest, and I'm loving NV baby, and will be for a long time to come :fallout:

Thanks for making such a fun and addictive game. I've had alot of fun with New Vegas and just wanted to say thanks for your time and hard work. If any of the Obsidian employees actually read this, great job guys hope we get to see another Fallout game by you, I've been a fan of Obsidian for a long time. :celebration:

People can have their own opinions about the game, but coming into a thread and making a comment on a different game is off-topic. Doing this consistently is spamming, or trolling, and can earn a warning and posting ability suspension.

Keep this thread for FNV; there are other threads with criticism and problems. If your post is about those things, use one of the other threadsl

Im not. In fact, I stated one the first page "This is a great game." I haven't disputed the fact that is isn't a great game, but that doesn't mean that flaws shouldn't be discussed or mentioned. Im not going to say "Great game" when there are multiple issues that can be solved still left. Is there any reason to not state that there are problems?

JE Sawyer is a genius. Reading his interviews/rants is genuinely entertaining.
