RAGE just went from a definite buy to only a rent

I've never played the multiplayer on any id game I've ever played. Its all about the single player, baby!

I've played the MP on Doom and Quake II and then Quake III Arena / Quake Live and that stuff was fun for a little while but I have to agree with you Orzorn, it's all about the single player, so bring it on!!! :D

And if the single player is incredibly short and lacking in many features? Then what? Are you still going to announce fanboyism even if its short with a lack of SP features?

And where are you getting that the single-player is incerdibly short? You keep saying it's short without any sort of evidence for it. id software themselves (you know the guys actually making the game) have said multiple times that they are shooting for a long single-player experience. Also, from what they've shown so far, it has every feature a pure sandbox shooter needs in sp: vehicles, crafting, varied weapons and ammo types, enemies that vary in size and behaviour and a big open environment.

I can assure you when I say, no gamer is going to be turned off by the fact that there is more to-do and more content, with co-op and fully fleshed out multiplayer. Why would they be? That type of thinking is completely absurd.

wow, you didn't comprehend what i said at all.

I said that they know by not going the full-on multi-player route that they are turning some fans off.
and they still dont want to be an online multiplayer clone.

rage on, man.

You forget about mods and servers. That's what makes PC multiplayer fun for me, personally. That and the community that can only be found on servers. I felt Crysis 2 would have great mulitplayer with the dozens of new modes but their all the same and took out the wonderful original ones no one really cared for. I would wait for a community to show up and maybe some actual footage before you jump to conclusions.

No. You're wrong. This is what YOU want. If I wanted to Play call of duty I'd play it. This is Rage. Open your eyes.

Did you just about happen to miss every single gameplay video where they say they are shooting for a very long and great single player experience? It's all about the single player man. According to id Software, who just happen to me making the game if you didn't know. So they might have some say in this.

Well I mean, just by looking at Rage I can tell that the singleplayer will be EPIC. Besides, remember that Rage will ship with an IdTech5 game editor, so people will make mods all the time, and you can make them or play them.

Also, if the multiplayer isn't what you want, then mod it! See how simple it is?

There will be a chunky good hours in singleplayer, and chunky good time for making multiplayer mods. In fact, someon who knows good amount of coding could make deathmatch possible for Rage, and other modes

hello everyone new member just signed up. Im not trying to start a flame war i love rage and i can understand why id decided to go this route with the multiplayer. I for one think that there is way to many competitive multiplayer games on the market now and too many more about to be released im so burnt out.. I rather play co-op games or epic singleplayer games like fallout upcoming skyrim and this game so i wonder if that is why they did it.. Btw i played gears 3 beta and was not impressed competitive multiplayer is getting old anyways be nice like i said im new to this forum and site

Nope. If it's short, I'll finish and go play something else and if people make SP maps for it or an expansion gets made I'll look into that stuff. I'm just not a big MP gamer and it's always been that way and always will be. Nothing to do with fanboyisms.
