Is Rage worth $20?

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 1:26 pm

It wasn't worth $60.00 for me.

$20.00 seems fair.

My guess is if you wait 6 more months you could probably pick up both RAGE and bulletstorm for $10.00.

I've already seen Bulletstorm for $10 on ebay. I actually put a bid on it but I only bid $9 so I lost by a dollar.

I built a new machine at the end of last year and was looking for a good FPS and purchased on Steam for $29.00. I probably could have purchased for less, just started the campaign on medium and really enjoying the gameplay.

Reminds me of previous games from ID. I do think it is worth $20.00 compared to what this games expectations are as a FPS. Graphics are really nice, weapons thus far kick ass and enemy intelligence is pretty good. I like closed environment and feel of the game.

I played a little bit of DNF ( last year during PC upgrade) and RAGE IMHO is more fun and intense.

Anything's better than DNF. The game doesn't have a 54% rating on Metacritic for nothing.

You obviously never played Big Rigs Over The Road Racing.

I'd play DNF over that piece of [censored] any day of the week.

Reading some of the comments all I can say is Wow...Just Wow, I played the game through on normal then nightmare. Did all the side jobs, played cards once, the game outside and knife thing with you hand. I cannot see anybody doing all this in 2 hours. Between finding the spores, night blossoms, feltrite crystals, side job, jumps, field goals, all the races, and killing the guys on the road; just that is over 2 hours itself. Are the characters corny? yes, is the story weak? yes, is the MP sad? to me yes. Don't know why the didn't add a multiplayer (not co-op) shooter part. :gun: That part left me disappointed. But the game is still fun and I found the standard enemies not as easy to kill as in some other games (they don't always mindlessly just charge in a straight line).

Is the game worth $20? yes, a 3 disk game (2 campaign, 1 MP). You can't really find a one disk game for that price. The game does have a limited re-play value but if your a achievement hunter there is plenty to find. The graphics are really good when it comes to a XBox or PS3, the fact is for now the max resolution is 720p, both XBox and PS 3 systems are way behind computer desktops found nowadays. They have limited memory and a average graphics card. 1080p is upscaled by your gaming machine, so looking for a high end PC resolution is not going to happen, and comparing the graphics to a good PC game is just plain dumb.

I have not played the PC/Mac version, but the XBox version is worth the $20, and the game can get addicting when you get going.
Hope this helps. :tops:

Bulletstorm was a waste of money to me, Got it just for the beta of Gears of War 3. the campaign was so-so, But the horde type MP just svcked.

I'm very into FPS and thus I'm very picky with them . . . and I have to say, didn't quite like Rage. I didn't like the gameplay. *shrug*

However $20 isn't a bad price for it. It'll be entertaining with some.

I'm not really into FPS games, the only FPS I've played and enjoyed was Portal, Bioshock 1, and Bioshock 2. Any other FPS (Halo, CoD, Battlefield) completely bored me I guess you can compare TES and Fallout, but that is pushing it very far lol. I need at least a decent story that is still interesting.

Rage is on sale at my workplace for $20, along with Borderlands: GotY ($20 as well). I'm definitely getting Borderlands but I'm not sure if Rage is worth buying. So what are your thoughts on it? Try to sell me on it, if you can lol.

the only "shooters" I like: borderland and bioshock. I dig RPGs. TES from morrowind on, gothic 1 and 2, (not 3) fallout series (all). neverwinter nights 1. risen. basically RPGS.

I really liked rage. it is a bit short, but I am replaying it. which I don't do with many games.

Well - if you owe an ATI card like me it won't be worth any money at all as I - like many, many ATI owners - are yet to play the game since the one frame stutter bug at start-up of game hasn't been ironed out.

I would love to see my purchase in action, but over 6 months after release I'm still not able to play.
