12 reasons why MW3 will be the best game ever.

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 9:04 am

1. Pointstreaks

Encourages camping

2. Campaign

The CoD campaign is alright. Ever since W@W it went down hill though. The devs need to learn pacing.

3. Grenade launcher with a scope on it

When game design fails, throw more weapons in. Great development mindset.

4. The multiplayer map Paris

You've tried it?

5. No broken maps

You've tried them?

6. Being able to toss grenades across the map to spawn kill the other team(most skilled thing EVER!)

*Slams head against desk*

7. You get to play the role of a marine

The only way this could be more cliche was if it had the prefix "space-"

8. Cars can explode

Explosions > Fun gameplay?

9. It's a Call of Duty game

Blind fanboism, always a great thing, no?

10. You can call in airstrikes and stuff like that

When you can't make a good, fully developed game, just add explosions

11. It is not battlefield or Oblivion 2.

Once again, blind fanboism at its best.

12. You get to play as Delta Force.

Ohhhhh spooky name. Must be supah hardcoe shiz

Thoughts?

Those are just my thoughts. Everyone likes what they like, but I like what I like better. Do you, like, understand?

I can't tell if you are serious or not. You could already do most of that stuff.

Sorry, if this ticks anyone off, but the campaign's are utterly boring when compared to games like Mass Effect, Batman, Rage, or Crysis 1 and 2. There is just no enemy variety, gun variety, mission variety, or incentive to keep playing besides just seeing where the story goes. It's like playing duck-hunt, with updated graphics.

Also, there no such thing as Oblivion 2. :shakehead:

I sort of agree with battlefield and cod, the hardest fps I have ever played is halo reach on legendary.

@mouseking - look above, that's off the top of my head.

So it doesn't have the smooth and easy to use cover system of Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2? No weapon customization in terms of swapping out sights, changing type of magazines?

@Allstarn, actually changing from Killstreaks to Pointstreaks encourages playing the objective, killstreaks ancourage camping. And most of the rest of your points are pointless flamebait.

@Wonderwombat, most of those points were like his, little substance and dont really matter. I actually want to know why people think BF is so much better and more original than CoD. Its like its the new fad to hate on CoD.

Actually mw3 has an attachment which lets you switch sights.

I bet it doesn't have the option for user made maps. That's where the Far Cry franchise, TimeSplitters frnachise and Crysis franchise excel in online multiplayer. Endless options of maps. No need to buy 15$ map packs that way. Oh wait! Activision wouldn't be able to bleed the [censored] dry then.

I dislike it because (TO ME) it's an utterly average game, but for whatever reason, it's the most popular gaming franchise in the world. It is such a gross mis-representation of gaming as a whole, and doesn't deserve all of the popularity.

A decent campaign, and fun multiplayer? Certainly, if you like the simplicity of it.

Best game(s) ever? Hell to the freakin' no.

Sorry I was flying my jet around in BF3 but Cod and best game ever should not ever be in the same sentence. I stopped playing Cod after Cod4 because it just got old and boring because its the same thing over and over and over.

It is an average game, the reason its so popular is because of a few reasons. When playing you get instant gratification, its simple, easy to get into too, and is fun. Its simplicity is part of the reason it is the most popular shooter, adn entertainment franchise ever. Anyone can come home after work, school or whatever and sit down adn play CoD. Its simplicity, its averageness is one of its greatest strength.

It is obviously not the best game ever.

But I still play, I still have fun adn I like it, and thats really all that matters to me.

It'll be lucky to even be the 3rd best FPS game of the year.

Actually it already broke the record for biggest entertainment franchise. So... yeah, it already is the biggest and best selling of the year.

And alot of people think CoD is God's gift to earth, so, yeah.

That was another point I was going to make. It appeals to the lowest common denominator (I'm not bashing on you, the game is fun). I just think a lot of the fans are new to gaming in general, and haven't really expanded their horizons beyond simple shooters.

My brother is 9, and he, and his friends, love COD, Halo, and similar games. They remind me of myself when I was their age, just completely enamored in the minimal differences between guns, and the joy of shooting a guy in the head. They can wrap their heads around the game, and it's basic elements.

Take me then, someone who's been gaming since he was eight (first game ever, Rugrats Mini-Golf), and I need something with more going for it besides explosions.

I agree, it does appeal to average (I wouldn't say LCD) person, because it is just so pointless, its something that requires little effort to get into.

When I was younger the original CoD was the [censored], it was so much fun, me and my brother played it so much, my Dad on the other hand hated it. He played games like Baldurs Gate, which we never got into because of the effort required. Nowadays I would rather play an RPG even an action one like Skyrim since it has more substance.

I had another thing I was gonna say but I completely went blank. I remember know, I don't think its about people being the LCD because my brother who is a math and science wizard (for lack of a better term) can't stand RPGs, but CoD appeals to him. I also think it simage, CoD has that flair, but no depth. CoD is the really "cool" thing to play. Whereas a game that has substance is "nerdy" or for "losers". At least that's the way ti works in school. So people are content with the mediocre game because they dont even bother playing other games. For instance I know people who bough Xbox's and PS3's just to get CoD.

Ya, I'm pretty sure that's how my brother feels about the games I play. He just doesn't have the attention span to play a game like Oblivion, or Fallout 3. To his credit, he has tried, and he's actually been playing a lot of Fallout: New Vegas and getting pretty far.

COD multiplayer is fun for like a week to me. I honestly don't understand how people can put ten days or more into multiplayer. And then put another ten days into the next game, and the next game, and the next game...

In New Vegas my brother got through the first quest, then he had to come downstairs to ask me what to do. I lol'ed.

It's so aggravating to watch my brother play video games. HE JUST DOESN'T DO IT RIGHT!

After all these years, you just sort of pick-up habits, like searching for the right path, or talking to the right NPC. My brother hasn't reached that point yet, but he'll get there.

This pretty much. I've heard it described as the Angry Birds of FPS games, and that's pretty much right.
