Red Dead Redemption ... sooo I bought this game yesterday ..

Post » Fri Jul 15, 2011 3:34 pm

Red Dead Redemption is an ok game, I didn't really like the combat at all, it was too shaky and I was always getting killed. Probably one of the many reasons why I traded it back in halfway through.

When entering cheats

does it have to be all in "RAGE CAPS"

do i need the periods and apostrophes and the things that show up beteen n and t in don't ?? and I'M ??

gamefaqs forums are totally unhelpful :/ getting flamed because i dare say i dont like western themes over all because i find them slow paced and most western movies ive watched ive fallen asleep half way through ...

IIRC cheats dont work unless you unlock them fom challenges. E.g kill X birds on a train on expert, no dead eye.

I dont have a manual :( or fold out map

I think this is a http://epix.xbox.com/shaXam/0201/55/78/5578b04b-140d-4a53-bc07-091cf1b372c5.PDF?v=1#rdr-en.PDF of the manual. (I didn't give it enough time to load up) Hopefully that is the right thing.

The fold out map isn't really that necessary, I don't believe I used it once. I find the ingame map much more usefull. http://faqsmedia.ign.com/faqs/image/article/109/1091366/red_dead_redemption_blank.jpg is a map you could print out, if you wish.

I hope this helps you. :)

I actually think RDR has one of the strongest online modes of any game I've played. Sure, there are mmos and whatnot, but for a tacked on mode in an open world game, it can be pretty fun, especially if you get a big posse together and raid the fort. Makes you feel like the SAS when you have enough men to storm the damn thing in seconds.

Keep at it EF, as for the aiming, I thought there was an autoaim to make it easier? I'm not sure of the 360 controls.

Just think of it as Morrowind USA edition.

I still love this game to death. I recently did my first 'Pass Into Legend'.

Honestly, I was expecting fireworks, but eh.

I loved RDR. The ending (the real one) was possibly the most satisfying ending of a videogame that I've ever seen. Plus, the music in the credits was really good.

And I suggest you put the aiming mode on the easiest setting, at least at first. It makes things less frustrating. Oh, and don't use cheats! They disable achievements and the ability to save!

Well, it's not exactly The Da Vinci Code, is it? It's an open world game set in the wild west. If you've ever played GTA, you'd know what I mean. Just do missions until you finish the game. Between them, just have fun exploring and trying all the various side-quests and mini-games. Enjoy the soundtrack, the setting, and the story.

Basically this...

This is not a family game, there is a six scene and you dont seem to approve of that stuff. Also implied [censored], lighting people on fire (though that can be entertaining ) and other stuff.

Wait, whaaa...?! I've finished the game a couple times and never noticed anything like that

I love RDR, I have to admit though I played for a while and eveyrthing then stopped and gave up, then two of my friends started playing it and everyday they were saying how awesoem it was and everything so I decided to give it another go. Finished it and is one of my favourite games ever :) (it seems a similar story has happened to a lot of people though :P)

I love RDR.

I think if someone made a game like that for the PC with first-person gameplay, fully customizable character, and more immersive activities that blend in naturally with the world (instead of minigames) it would possibly be my favourite game of all time.

I had two of my little cousins (both under the age of 10) in the room at the time.

You probably skipped the cutscene, Skull. It started with John Marston walking into a building in Mexico really slowly, once you enter... Let's just say, if he were to invite you over for dinner, you best decline.

RDR is my absolute favorite game. (with Fallout 3 a close second)

I may be mistaken but you don't really seem to be making an effort to enjoy it.

They way you type, with the constant "Tehs", shows you probably lack the maturity for a game like this anyway...

But stick with it, it is a really enjoyable game once you get into it. :)

I get the game. I just don't get how Rockstar ported it to the PS3 so terribly. Sub-HD resolution, less shadows, half the grass... I can't stand how blurry and lackluster the game looks for something that's supposedly a good-looking game... especially when I'm actually enjoying the non graphical parts.

Yah I think its been done and they called it called "fallout 3"

Feels the same, except its in 3rd person, theres horses, no alien tech and no over powered weapons like a gatling gun those are pretty much the only differences

You''l learn that bears actually hunts in packs of 3-5.Nothing scarier than taking one down and then finding out there are 2 more right on your ass.

Well no but for being such huge beastly animals they are a lot more quiet than you expect.I can't count how many times they would come form behind kill my horse and leave me on foot.

That sounds startling. I'm tempted to go spend my day trying to find out what that's like firsthand.
