None of the FO3 characters seemed anything special, I wouldn't want any of them to return.

In all seriousness, I don't see any reason to drag F3 Characters all the way across the continent, especially when there is only two characters from Fallout 2.

No one should cross over to FONV from FO3. Besides a few of the FO3 npcs might have a small quest setup role in FO4. These being Fawks and ghouls like Desmond, Crowley, maybe Carol who runs the hotel in the Underworld.

That being said, the only ones who could make that trip to the west would be Fawks and the ghouls.

Not at all. There are 40 years in between Fallout 2 and New Vegas, so whoever returned would just be old.

for once on this forum I actually agree w/ the majority. As cool as it would be to see returning characters, it just doesn't make sense. Plus, if they brought your FO3 character, it would ruin the story. The player characters are ment to be anonymous people that only you control. It would be lame to see them as an NPC (and if you meant to play as him, it just doesn't make sense that he would travel that far). The only one I'd want to return is harold, if they either completely ignored the tree thing in 3.

Sorry to burst your bubbles folks but it's likely going to be an unimportant character like Dr.Li. I'd much rather see Elder Lyons ( As in Sarah or Owyn if he's still around ) but thats wishful thinking, don't get your hopes up over seeing a popular or esteemed character you where fond of showing up.. When Dr.Li starts to lecture you you'll only be heartbroken.

Honestly, the only Characters who seem to remotely be likely to come to F:NV (From F3) would be Doctor Li, or Desmond Lockheart, or it COULD be Outcasts who went East to rejoin with what they see as the 'Real' Brotherhood.

Watch -- It'll be that chick from megaton who gives you squirrel on a stick.

I liked Fawkes, atleast in terms of letting the mostly previously non-Fallout players know Super Mutants aren't all....well I'll let the people at Black Mountain tell it: "Dumb Dumbs." If Bethesda expanded on Fawkes he could of been much more interesting. As always hopes are Behesda takes FO 3 pros/cons, the expansions of previous Fallout systems and better writing/dialgue(I'd say story but seeing as Howard has acknowledged very fluently team goals specifically to Morrowind and Oblivion that they were capable of a new Vegas class tale. They decided to go after a more personal one which I liked. Barring the lack of various player choices and input in the main story and many quests.) among other things brought by New Vegas, along with their experience with Skyrim and whatever else on the road to the 4th. As for Fallout 3 characters in a DLC. No. Are there various ways? Yes. But they most likely wouldn't take the trip/ be capable of it. And I dount Obsidian would introduce a multi-year leap forward in a dlc just to accomadate an idiot traveler with no business in Legion lands. At the most I can see FO 3 characters in the Midwest around Chicago. I'd rather their saved for whts most likely going to be the Commonwealth in the next Fallout. Maybe parts of Canada aswell. Personal choice would be Chicago although......(Midwest isn't as low key in priority for nuclear warhead targets as people think. Though mainland America is habitable by this time. Forget the source of that.)

According to one video game news blog[9], a source "close to Bethesda Softworks" spoke to journalists on condition of anonymity, saying that four DLC's other than Dead Money were in development as of December 2010, with two others being considered, which if approved would make for a total of seven add-ons for release over the next two years. Of the four DLC's planned for release after Dead Money, the source was said to have stated that the Courier has a "relationship" with Ulysses and that the nature of the relationship would surprise players. He also said that a future DLC would add an area to the game that players "likely thought they would never see", as well as "a personality [from] Fallout 3". Hmm. Actually adding to my comment I made at the end of the last page. Seems like someone, or something will come back from FO 3 if this guy is correct. As for the area players would think we wouldn't see. It could be areas from old games wether Reno or VC, Legion lands, to Area 51. Ulysses should be interesting, if made less epic by the game engine/ Obsidians programmers abilities. And no, it wouldn't be Three Dog. Although I actually enjoyed him very much.

Seems a lot of people are forgetting that it's already been confirmed a FO3 personality will be returning to NV.

I was never a Fawkes fan, but he seems likely in my mind.
Lotta people liked him, he'd have reason for coming out west, and he's capable of taking care of himself across that long trek.
He hits the trifecta of requirements when considering who the returnee is going to be.
