Roleplayers: how does your character feels about being Drago

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 12:13 am

Mine thinks being Dragonborn it's a curse. He was hoping for a simple way of life without being forced to carry all the weight of the world upon his shoulders. A farm, a wife, some kids, maybe a trip to High Rock every one and then. The first thing he did when he left High Hrothgar was shouting GODS WHY ME from the top of the mountain [actually it would be a cool Shout ].

What about yours?

edit: I'm curious to read how some have managed to roleplay they are NOT Dragonborn

Actually, my character has a rare mental condition is skyrim which results in him roleplaying as a troll, furthermore he has no idea about being dragonborn because he is deaf.

Yes, I am a person roleplaying a dragonborn character who is roleplaying a troll.

my nord loyalist has a new found meaning to his life and will bring his people the sovereignty they deserve.

my khajiit thief, as of now, could care less about any of it. all that matters is his profession.

Without touching the MQ - the characters I've played so far are not even aware of their origin.

Orc who was born in Skyrim. Thinks being Dragonborn is a sign from the Gods and is hoping to walk the Way of the Voice to honor Kynareth and bring back the worship of Talos to its former glory.

She is saddened by the xenophobia of the Nords of her homeland, but hopes they will see the error of their ways as she shows them that not all non-nords are without honor, valor, and dedication.

After this character, I'm going to make a flesh-eating Bosmer who joins the Dark Brotherhood. :)

I tried to ignore the MQ, but unfortunately had it dropped in my lap as soon as I helped out the guy in Riverwood obtain his oh-so-precious golden artifact and was yelled at by a wall of scratch marks.

Basically I try to ignore the dragonborn thing for as long as I possibly can - My current character is supposed to be me transplanted into the world, but somehow I'm able to decode these scratch marks on the wall and have somehow been able to use a Thu'um.

I've also tried to spend as much time in Riverwood working at the mill as I could, but considering there's really nothing to do there, I decided I'd go ahead and fill my role as dragonborn because otherwise I wouldn't really be able to interact in the world as I wish I could.

I'm really anticipating the creation kit, though, because I'm hoping I can augment the game in a manner that suits my personal play style.

My Nord warrior has embraced the idea of being Dovahkiin, he had came to Skyrim seeking to aid the Stormcloak rebellion but he has found new pupose with his gifts and he uses them for the good of Skyrim and on the path of freeing his homeland he has made a new and very powerfull ally. . .

My other characters on the other hand are completely oblivious to their gifts.

My character considers it to be a great honor and blessing by the Nine Divines, and will use this power to serve the Gods:

- Akatosh: Defeating Alduin, his fallen firstborn, is certainly the will of the Dragon God of Time
- Arkay: My character has a hatred/speciality for the Undead, and will smite them
- Talos: First, he will defeat every Thalmor agent he comes across. As for the war, he is uncertain.
- Zenithar: Bandits, brigands and thieves will face my wrath
- Kynareth: I will complete the 2 sacred tasks of Kynareth, and avoid destroying her creations
- Julianos: My dedication and application of the magic arts in the College will no doubt please Julianos
- Mara: When the land is safe, I shall complete Mara's divine tasks, then find my soulmate, and live in peace
- Dibella: I will rescue the blessed one, and the beauty of this land from the jaws of Alduin and other evils
- Stendarr: Mercy and Justice shall be dispensed to those whom require it

Thadious, my Breton, embraces his status of Dragonborn, and finds it to be an honor.

Thadious is a man of honor and justice, and feels privileged to be the one with the skill to fight for the rest of Tamriel.

Marr'Taan, my Wood Elf (hasn't been created yet, but will be soon) is a little more indifferent to it. He is more neutral to things that don't directly effect him, but as a descendent of the Nerevarine, he does see this as an opportunity to make a name for himself in his family's lineage.

Indeed, although that is my casual mode. In the good old days of windmorrow, I would plaster my walls in windmorrow posters, then make the room pitchblack. Then I'd turn on the tv and play the game. I was there.

Looks like a well thought character and perhaps with an interesting background, what race is he and what are his skills?

Aradal the Lightbringer
Breton Holy Knight:

1 Handed (Swords)
Heavy Armor
Smithing
Restoration
Enchanting
Alteration
Destruction
Alchemy
Speechcraft

He's the descendant of the Divine Crusader, his mother a Legionairre and father a priest of Stendarr. All 3 fought in the Great War, and were responsible for many Thalmor kills. His parents died in the retaking of the Imperial City, but not before they captured Lord Naafingar and brought him before the Emperor.

He's still torn about the Civil War; on the one hand, he has his sense of loyalty and honor to the Empire and all it stands for, instilled by his mother. On the other hand, his fathers sense of justice tells him to act (join the Stormcloaks) instead of waiting for the Empire to regroup.

You know how some guys think they are God's gift to women?

Yeah.

Those are my guys after they discover they are Dragonborn.

I would prefer for some of my characters to not be Dragon Born. I suspect there will be a mod or several mods for this.

My male Khajiit doesn't even know he's Dovahkiin, yet.
I'm trying to make a good story that fits with the Main Quest.
He's a Robin Hood like character that gets corrupted and joins the Dark Brotherhood, and as Listener, he will find out that he plays a far bigger role then he originally thought.
Now make that story 200 hours long and you have a good and memorable character.

Preoccupied with attempting to win money and power through criminal means, amoral Breton Bel regards the Yarl of Whiterun as being a superstitious old crank but welcomes the prestige he has bestowed upon her, if only as a possible means to get out of paying the price for future criminal activities. Nobody is particularly impressed when she makes an atronach materialise out of thin air or calms an angry bear, so finding a few Nords were mightily impressed when she made a dark elf stagger about for a second she puts down to their somewhat backwards belief in old folk tales. She's since discovered she can do a few more things, but nothing to make her take this business seriously yet.

Perhaps feeling a pang of conscience regarding some of her actions, she recently made a spontaneous decision to give an Argonian the jewels he needed to marry the lizard of his dreams, getting only a crappy potion in return. Only to find five minutes later the same Argonian giving her a hard time about threatening said dream lizard for Thieves Guild money days ago, seemingly turning on her the moment he got what he wanted. This, coupled with Lydia moving in uninvited, refusing to stay in her own room and sitting there staring at her in a disconcerting manner every time she goes to bed has caused Bel's embryonic stirrings of concern for others to evaporate and she's now off to wreak havoc. If she visits the Greybeards, it will be to see what they have that's worth stealing.

my character simply wanted to scour Skyrim for the Thalmor who killed his family, burned down his home, and [censored] his face up. But now he has to save the world, and he simply can't ignore the bloody dragons flying aroudn wreaking everything. He may be driven by vengeance, but he isn't heartless.

Only a Nord can be Dragonborn for me , otherwise it doesn't feel right , except maybe an Akaviiri , and the closest we have to them is the Argonians .

With other races i didn't trigger the main quest
