Skyrim Alduin ending, *sigh*

Uh.... no. I think that was me. I'm NOT complaining about the game though.
It was both of y'all, actually. FWIW, I would hate it, too, but I said 'good bye' to PC games long ago.

I'm a glass half-full sort of person in most of the things I do. This includes playing Skyrim.

But mother of GOD do not get me started on Blizzard. I don't want to think about how many hours of my life I vomited into WoW. I will pointlessly argue about any remote inconsistency or unfavorable thing about Skyrim with anyone ever FOREVER rather than go near Blizzard again.

Since we're talking about PC games now, I'd play the unholy hell out of Skyrim for PC if I had one that could run it on all ultra settings and all the bells and whistles. Unfortunately that would cost me around a grand, which I don't feel like laying down for a computer right now when I gotta working console and a PC that does everything but games pretty damn well.

...still get really jealous when I watch the mod videos though.... :(

Yeah, I have to admit: I do wish I could get mods for the PS3 version - I know there are some cool ones.

I know that's where you are. But I repeat.... my machine isn't new. It's appx 2 years old. It runs any game out there (that I care to play....) at ultra without issues. I don't spend gobs on a machine when I buy one (less than $800 for this one, and haven't had to mess with it since I bought it). YMMV, of course, but I have never in my entire life felt as if I was "chasing upgrades for games". And I'm sorry, but Microsoft doesn't bother me. Windows WORKS. That's all I care about. I'm NOT investing gobs of what remaining hours I have dikeing around with multitudes of linux crap that any bozo who thinks he's a programmer can screw up. And no, I do NOT want to hear about how "prisitine" linux is. Spare me.

Sorry you feel that way. I'm not playing WoW right now, due to being totally subverted by Skyrim. However, I have played WoW for most of the past 6 years, and I haven't regretted the hours nor the money. Perhaps you have fodder for a blog of your own about that?

I can get a decent enough computer to run Skyrim for about $300 but not for best graphics, sadly.

Maybe you should start trying to become a PC Gamer again? I was a PC Gamer for Morrowind then got Oblivion and Skyrim for computer and now lately, I said screw it and planning to get a new computer and would have it by now but only have $300 and the taxes are like $15 more.

I was on RuneScape about 6 years then had to quit due to an update that ruined my connection. This is one of the reasons why I'm getting Skyrim on the computer and another reason why I want CLAWS in Skyrim. I miss my Dragon Claws.

Nah I'm good. I gots Skyrim now and frankly all I need to sustain myself now is air, occasional, food, and diet coke.

....So really it's exactly like when I played WoW.

Yeah, that's where I got the issues and such. I know it's such a lame thing to say but I'm all about visuals for a game. I want the game to look the best possible or else I feel like I'm on the short end of the stick. That's my 360 and HD TV work well for Skyrim.

If the game is an old PS1 or 64 rom that's near and dear to me (aka from my childhood,) then I got it. Otherwise I don't know, it just bothers me a lot lot. >;

I never really care about visuals. Yes, Skyrim (and Oblivion) is visually stunning. But even if it wasn't, I wouldn't care. The GAME is the thing, not what it looks like.

[Uh. Wow. Sorry for the TOTAL derail on this thread! If I was a mod, I'd split the svcker.... good discussion, but NOT germane to the OP at ALL....]

Agreed. This is one reason why I tried out RuneScape instead of WoW... WoW's graphics are good but I am not a fan of the game itself. I was more of a RS fan though I always disliked the graphics.

I guess I'm just overly picky. Or my priorities are out of whack. I'm quicker to notice/find fault in a visual issue than one that actually hinders gameplay. Maybe I'm just really vain or something.

Not like I won't like a game if I think the graphics are gross, I just find it hard to replay old games where everything's like triangular and clunky.

Honestly? I never notice "graphical issues" if the game if fun, absorbing.... Do I like my "better looking fems"? Sure. But I still play Arena and Daggerfall and Morrowind. Believe me, graphics in those games are.... um.... "antique" is the politest way I can put it. But the GAMES are great! Who CARES what the graphics look like?

[Jusey - the double quoting happens because it takes a LONG time - relatively - to load a quoted post in the reply screen. So you think it didn't do it, you click again, and then you have two. Give it 15 seconds or so....]

Well, this one is about 8 years old, but when I built it it was on par with top of the line Alienware and the other gaming super computers so maybe I'll build another gaming PC when I have to finally replace it. Mainly, I get tired of upgrading them each time a new game comes out (new memory for game 1, new CPU for game 2, new video card for game 3, etc). I hate throwing out good components to put great components in plus, 'they' keep changing to form factors so you have get a new motherboard...and I'll stop that rant now. :P Also, my Nostromo and Fang are probably no longer supported so I'd have to replace those as well. I'm old, damn it!

Yeah it's not a deciding factor for me, but it does give me a tick more than any other issue. I still play Morrowind on my PC from time to time since I'm all FLYING~! I still love it to death and back. Sure I still can't really fight Cliff Racers and it makes my RAM want to leap off a cliff, but I still like it.

Also uhh....yeah the ending to Skyrim is okay. I liked it. I completely accept that other people do not and they are entitled to their opinion. HOORAY FOR FEELINGS.

*snort* You're FAR younger than I am.... Regardless, I repeat - this machine is 2 years or so old, and will run any game I care to play (and THAT is a very personal thing, so likely MY list isn't yours, you know) on ultra. It wasn't an expensive, high-end machine, and I've had NO issues with it (unlike the alienware - um.... dell.... *cough* - a friend paid nearly $3k for just 6 months ago....) I get 100 FPS in Stormwind on a holiday weekend (WoW....) - and I've not paid attention to the FPS in Skyrim because.... well, who needs to? It works fine, it's smooth, no issues.

This is like how I am with any games I ever played on my PC. My friends are like "Is your game running at full capacity and computertalkblahblah" and I'm like "Uhhh...it's...not lagging?". Since they'd be the bros helping me sort out good parts for a gaming computer, they don't really have the patience for my being like "Uhhh what makes it run well?". @@

ROFL!! Well, I can understand that from both sides truthfully. I used to build my own machines, so I get the bros.... but a few years back I got to the point of just wanting the DAMN THING TO WORK without intervention. So I get you from that angle too.... Now, I just order a nice reasonably priced no-OS barebones from tigerdirect and put my drives etc. into it, load my retail win 7 64bit ultimate onto it , and good to go.
