I sooo wish that they released a Game Jam DLC. I know alot of people said NO DLC ONLY EXPANSIONS, but I think that this would be a very welcome excpetion. Oh, why must they tease us with what could be?

It's called a morning star I believe. It's a one handed flail.

No, it was just put aside in favor of focusing on fleshing out everything else. Think of what they could do with the vampire lord, like make a whole story behind it, and flesh it out more, and make it a better experience.

Actually it wasn't put aside at all. Everything in the jam was independently developed by devs AFTER the game had already shipped.

Yeah that post was written in my moment of geek-gasm and my brain was just buzzing with excitement, and I was just thinking out loud. A few posts after that I regain my composure and explained to someone else why there were most likely bugs and such, lol.

I look forward to all the crazy stuff I HOPE they will continue to develop for the game now that they have some breathing room and more funds from ridiculous sales. Soooo much potential.

It's all good. There's always times when we want more content in the game and eventually you have to decide what's going in the box.

What's game jam? I guarantee that mounted combat will never officially make it in.

What's game jam?

That's what the week was called when they were working on it. I never heard the exact reasoning for the name, but I assumed it was in reference to a band jamming out in the basemant and trying new stuff out.

Hmmmm what I am wondering is what shown in the Game Jam can be created with the Creation Kit atm, and what has to be DLC (if any of it makes DLC).

A lot of it seemed to require access to the games code at least a little bit. Especially the mounted combat and such.

You'll have to wait and see. The good news is you got to see some of the ideas we've bounced around.

What were some of your other favorite parts?

I really enjoyed hearing about the process you went through when design features.

For example, talking about the horses, it would have been easy to make them carry stuff but you didn't as it would make horses too important and make thier flaws more obvious. Its that sort of design processes that I really like hearing about.

I know that, what I mean is originally spears and some other stuff (not everything in the video) was supposed to be in the game, but was put away in favor of other things.

I believe it was said that anything could be done, but not everything. Most of those ideas probably had bugs and issues the team didn't have time to work out.

Which means now the game is released and DLC ideas are floating around they have time to polish these ideas up for the next big content release.

Let's hope, anyway xD

Well specifically they said no snow footprints because "theres no deformation" in the game engine. Which is a terrible excuse since it doesnt need that, just a simple texture, like what was shown in the video.

Game Jam was a wonderful video and the creativity was so fun. I'd love to have a Paralysis Rune...maybe it'll happen in some DLC. I really enjoyed Todd's speech at DICE and he was so funny...and now I'm feeling very Proud. :tes:

Paralysis rune is in Midas Magic mod, provided you're on the pc

The epic mounts are awsome. And I loved the vampire lord idea. Wonder if you could go in first person like that... But Todd's speak was very enlightening in that he showed us how his company works and how great games like skyrim are born.

probably, its not in my possession and theres no say that these will ever be released, BUT I have a greater respect that they have little times like this where they can exercise their creative freedom. rolf stomps every other game out there with what was possible.

Yeah, he's a great leader and a very funny guy. This is from a Gamasutra interview I did, but it's one of my favorite stories to tell.

Bethesda Softworks' community manager, Matt Grandstaff, joined the company just two days before the Fallout 3 forums opened -- "Good luck, meat shield," executive producer Todd Howard teased him on their first meeting on the job.

Also you said "some of that stuff will make it in...". That sentence right there put a smile on my face. I wonder what stuff WILL make it in? (Lycanthropy tree plox.)

I should say "some will probably go in" -- it's all up to the team on what they decide.
