Skyrim.....NEEDS TO GO ONLINE!

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 9:17 am

Hehehehhe you answer in a very nice way and you are quite right. Tbh i'm too tired atm to expand the reasons and i've done it countless times before. Some of them are mentioned in the thread. It's kinda tricky to understand - it was for me too - but after playing a myriad of mmo's and being a fan of single player games too and seeing a lot of them becoming mmo's i understood. An online version of Skyrim will be completely different than what it is now. Trust me on this.

Mostly, because developing time and resources would have to go on a myriad different things than the things that now make the game great. Balance issues would come out, quests would become suddenly more of a competition, the rp sense of most of the things would be lost as well as many other things.

Just think though, with the idea i had have all the races together on one server. Just 1 of each race not an MMORPG style. The world of skyrim is way to big for 9 races to ruin it. There are all the same armor types so cant really ruin it there. Have one guy be the armor guy and another guy be an enchanter and so on and so forth.

There's enough Multiplayer games out there for you to enjoy. Leave a few games alone to be just for the single player experience.

TES is the pinnacle of single player gaming, it should never, ever, go online or co-op

I think it would be cool if they put in an arena fighting system where you could have your character fight other characters the same level or team up in an arena to fight monsters. I really don't see it working any other way until a later game.

That is a completely different game you're describing than a TES game. TES allows freedom. I don't want anything strict where I can only enchant or whatever you mean by armor guy.

It's technically unfeasible for skyrim to support multiplayer on the X-Box and PS3, the consoles are running under full burden to support the game right now, they don't have the resources left to handle multi-player.

Also in the past even community attempts to make co-op modes for the PC where it is more feasible, toke years and still svcked... compared to how well most community stuff goes it just goes to show the TES series isn't built for multi-player and can't really support it.

Okay then, how about NO because then the game would
1. Have less resorces spent on the actual single player and missions
2. DLC would svck because much time will be devoted to multiplayer crap
3. Game would fill with kids boasting "OMG I GOTS AN UBER SWORD!!!"
4. Whiners would emerge claiming its a WoW knockoff
5. ???
6. ???
7. Anything but profit

LOL at this "split resources" argument. How about you wait a few extra months for the games to come out? People are so impatient that any thought of a new way to play the game gets this reaction.

People also seem to be forgetting that there is a CHOICE in games with Co-op whether you want to play online or not. If you want Co-op, don't play co-op. Christ, why are these TES elitists so thick?

I think our dear friend M'Aiq said it best: "M'Aiq does not know this word. You wish others to help you in your quest? Coward! If you must, search for the Argonian Im-Leet, or perhaps the big Nord, Rolf the Uber. They will certainly wish to join you."

Yea, I'm with M'aiq on this one. Keep TES single-player. I don't want content cut from future games for something which can be found in dozens of other games. YOu want an MMORPG or co-op game? There are many of them out there. Keep TES to its traditional 1 player roots. :tes:

It isn't the same at all.. I want to dungeon crawl and group quest with some good friends. I want to be able to heal my buddy if he is about to go down. To trade/sell loot and crafted items with friends. Games are always more fun when played with people you know. Simply hearing their voice over your headset isn't good enough. I want them in my game.
Good for you, other people in my games usually piss me off even more than they do in real life...

Well know i was just making an idea out of it. You dont have to be an enchanter heck you can be what you want but if you know someone that can make you full deadric and you want to use a skill point somewhere else why not. You can still do what you want and create your charicter but it just an idea not a ok your forced to do this.

Then by all means go play an MMO with your friends.

I play Runescape, if you couldn't tell by my avatar. I still want Co-op on TES.

Bethesda Studios!!! Made an absolutely awesome game! I love it. Somehow you have to put this game online for a multiplayer outlook so friends can play together in the same world. Simply a friendly competiton with friends and other people throughout the world. I think other fans of the elder scroll games would agree that putting this game online would be ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Simply adding online quests or even teaming up with your own friends and other fellow Elder Scroll fans to do some SERIOUS DRAGONSLAYING!!!!! You probably have already thought about doing this but just think of the possibilities of this game. THE SKY IS THE LIMIT with this game online! I am a harcore call of duty fan and since Skyrim has been released i havent played MW3 once. I simply can't get enough of this game. Im sure putting this game online for PC, XBOX, PS3 is easier said than done but it is a dream that i have since playing this unbelievable game!!!!! My xbox does not appreciate me playing this game for countless hours on end! 2 thumbs up and hear my THUUM...... INCREDIBLE JOB GUYS!!!! WAAAAAAAAANT MORE!
man I want it online so bad to cause it would be awesome to play it with friends but the game is so complicated I just don't see how it could work

As soon as games go multiplayer and online, abuse and exploit and min/max runs wild. Skyrim online? Farm Dragons all day long. Most likely by getting it stuck somewhere.

All it would do would be to have the forums explode with posts telling Bethesda how lame they are for not "fixing" exploit xyz.

I believe that Beth has the license to a fallout mmo so i guess we should see how that goes first and maybe decide after if it could work or not.

Until you can give me some legitimate reasons against Co-Op that don't involve "splitting resources" or your opinion, stop talking :tops: .

Thjis and the fact that there is a such thing as deadlines that must be met. As well, like a previous post mentioned, past attempts svcked at making it co-op. the engin isnt designed for it and the consols would explode if multiplayer were enabled. PC owners, dispite their pluthera or mods, arnt the largest market for the game. I own on both PC and 360...just saying.

P.S. I was too tempted to click you sig, nice :)

Consoles would explode? Explain? My console handles BF3 quite well, and Skyrim is far less impressive graphics-wise than BF3.
