Skyrim is more medieval themed than Oblivion ever was, for its time in 2006 Oblivion had great graphics. Even Morrowind was good for its time. Mushrooms? sounds like you watched a Morrowind video.
I don't understand why you can't see them as being apart of the same world? England is nothing like the middle east, Norway is nothing like the Caribbean. See my point?
Skyrim also has giant mushrooms. You need to do some more quests and you will eventually find the place which has them.
Quests? I have no idea what youre talking about. This game has quests? I thought you just went around looting bandit hideouts and Ayleid ruins. And for the record, I dont have shivering isles.
I have deleted a few posts. Calling other members "trolls" or otherwise trying to demean them is not permitted and will earn a warning and a suspension if I see any more. I am starting to lose patience over this habit.
The reason I ask this is because I've looked at a few videos showing Oblivion and I just can't see how Skyrim is apart of the same world.
- Oblivion has horrible graphics
Horrible graphics? It's better looking than several games that came out way later. Also, did you start gaming like last year? 1998 had horrible graphics, not the probably best looking game of 2006.
- Oblivion has weird mushroom trees and plants that make the game look like it was based in Neverland
Like someone else said, you probably saw the Shivering Isles which is based on a crazy Deadra Lord's Realm. Stuff gets messed up in there.
- Oblivion looks like a Medieval simulation or something
Something I'm also wondering is if Skyrim is ever mentioned in the previous games.
Or did they pull a Pokemon and say "Oh by the way we discovered a new region, it was right next to us the whole time!"
Skyrim is well known from before. It's part of Tamriel which consists of several areas, all of which you can see here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Maps
Responses in bold. Also, you should go play Oblivion, and definitely Morrowind. You might not like anything older. See what the TES series is really all about.
