Skyrim should have had sea monsters

I think they need to give me a way to fight underwater before they give me sea monsters.

I'm reviving this thread as hope is not lost for those who want sea creatures. In a recent Joystick interview Todd said there were things he wanted to expand on like the addition of more sea creatures.
Thanks, that's really good news! I only hope they'll take climate and Norse mythology in account, it'll be weird encountering fish belonging to warm waters or to completely different cultures in Skyrim. And even without the ability to fight underwater it could still provide a good scare, or a good fight during a quest on a ship/close to the shore.

I don't think it will be like the giant mudcrab though Todd jokingly said they might add it. I'm still hoping for a kraken/squid like creature just to make it dangerous to swim in the open sea.

Why? We can;t even pick our noise underwater, yet alone fight the damned Kraken.
I would assume they would add underwater combat as well.

That is what I think they'd do.

Since Skyrim has sabre cats & mammoths that are from the Ice Age, maybe have some underwater animals from the same time period? Megalodon comes to mind, the ancient ancestor of the Great White, which is about the size of a bus.

I can't post links, but there is a size comparison on Wikipedia.

The green size is our modern day great white, purple is the whale shark, and red & gray represent the smallest and largest guesses of the size of Megalodon, respectively.
You can post links to that. It's fine just not to spoilers or scans.

Before release I was hoping for aquatic dragons.
Something rather eel-like. Long, & spiny with giant maws full of needle teeth.

Maybe even make their breath weapon lighting? Since you know, there aren't any shock breath weapons, & dur-hurr electric eels.

I've always believed we should have had big scary beasties lurking in the deep since Morrowind.

It does not have to be underwater combat. Who the hell said that? ..

All they can do is add a big huge octupus .. something new to Skyrim. Maybe a dragon that lives underwater ... a huge snake? .. I mean it can be land combat all you would need is archery and a bit of magic thats all.

Like big creatures. Not those small slaughterfish, but that wouldn't work unless you could use weapons/magic in water like in Oblivion.
The oceans size in skyrim is quite decent and sea monster would perfectly fit there

So what do you guys think?
Saying that first we need underwater combat is a good, valid point, which I agree with. However, they didn't do that, SO they should have at least put other (bigger) underwater creatures that don't attack you just for the sake of bringing more life into the water. But I don't recall having underwater combat in Oblivion, at least without a mod. Or did it, I honestly can't remember now, its been too long.
