I had a dragon literally fall on me while walking outside of Solitude. No distant or nearby roaring, no shadows crossing my path, no music. Just me walking down the path enjoying the scenery then bam, a dragon lands right on top of me.

You can really have two dragons attack at one? I see it on videos, but i always thought it was like console commands or something... I actually cant wait to fight two at once.

Trust me, it's not fun. Add to that a Giant and it's Mammoth, and I ran like my pants were on fire.

I got on my horse and headed out of Winterhold. I had just left the town when BAM! A sabre cat lept out right at us out of nowhere and my horse went down, dead on impact. That was how I lost my first horse. That thing came out of freakin nowhere!

I've had maybe one or two moments in skyrim, but it was more being creeped out by the feel of a dungeon I was in than anything jumping at me.

Bioshock though, scared me like NOTHING else. Some games may be 'jumpier' but bioshock mastered how to actually terrify me. The most memorable moment of any game I've ever played was being already creeped out by the eery atmosphere of a dentists office in bioshock, then as soon as I get a glimpse of what looked like a body on the dentists chair fog filled the entire room. I was expecting the body to get up as the fog cleared, it would have been freaky but predictable. Then it didnt, and I was super relieved, relaxed, then turned around and BAM someone was right in my face swinging an axe. I died because I dropped my damn controller when I jumped off my chair.

THATS how a game truly scares you. It makes you think you know whats about to happen, then make you feel safe, THEN suprise you.

Something similar happened to me...

So, I was at the top of a mountain, admiring the view. I decide I have seen enough and I really should work on this quest, so I turned around, and there is a dragon RIGHT THERE.

Not one game i can think of has made me jump like a frightened little girl more than this game... Honestly.

So there i am, minding my own business... Wanderin around in The Reach, picking juniper berries on my way to find some blade for someone... I always keep an eye out for hostile animals and enemies... But i finally find a pathway up a mountain i need to cross, i get excited, drop my guard, turn the corner, and... GROWL!!! A massive sabre cat jumps out of nowhere and pounces on my horse and i...

Needless to say, i did not see, nor hear this ravenous beast. And let me tell you, it scared the ever-loving 5hite out of me. I jumped like the people in the paranormal activity ads. Im not kidding. And this is not the first time either...

Now, Im pretty much not scared of anything... I dont usually jump at anything, much less a video game... There have been games that were scary/errie, like the silent hill franchise or the freaky mannequins im condemned (especially the scene when you turn around and there at like 7 lined up behind you out of nowhere, then turn again, and theyre in front of you... Then again, and again... Freakyyy yet awesome) but no game made me jump this [censored] much...

Anyone else have this happen? What are your stories?

This is a bright friendly world compared to Stalker. Any of em'.

Horror games depends on the immersion and the atmosphere the game has.
Skyrim is a game with immersion... And it's very atmospheric.

So it's normal for you to feel like that, even if there is nothing out there meant to scare the hell out of you.

Have you ever tried Underhell? It's an amazing mod for HL2.
It's very atmospheric and lonely.

The only things that scare me in Skyrim are the Dwemer Ruins...

Otherwise, I keep my Turtle Beaches on :)

Skyrim hasn't scared me as bad as Oblivion did when that troll came out of a secret door in a really dark part of a cave.

Funniest ever...

I was @ my friends lastnight watching him play on his Wood Elf showing me some books. He has Faendal with him (dude from Riverwood?) the Wood Elf guy.. he was looking EVERYWHERE for him.. he just like vanished into thin air. Then out of NOWHERE he just turns around and RIGHT in his face theres Faendal and he jumped so hard it was so funny.

Then afterwards a Blood Dragon decides to attack Morthal, randomly (they seem to like Morthal and Dawnstar alot.. why?). Anyway he's shooting it, followers shooting it.. and so are the guards. They finally get him down to a sliver of health and the DRAGON vanishes into thin air. We just look at each other like.. okay? And he goes "Man.. never getting that Soul now.. he's way too far away.."

Random as hell: "DRAGON SOUL ABSORBED!"

..OK. Then moments later the SAME dragon just plops outta the air literally almost right on top of his follower. They kill it.. and he get's yet ANOTHER SOUL?! -.O huh..?

Weird 5hite.

I remember this part in bioshock. Incredibly scary. As soon as i read dentist and fog, i remembered.. Now i cant get it out of my head... You reminded me though.. I still havent beated bioshock 2... Ill get to it in a year or two when im done with skyrim.

I also find it interesting how they attack those two towns a lot.
I mean, almost every town I have been to so far there has been a dragon attack, but in Dawnstar, I have been attacked by a dragon 4 times, just today, there were 2 there at the same time....

Turned around in a dark cave and saw this freaky, spiky monster that glowed red in places run towards my character.

But then I realized it was just my follower in Daedric.

i have 1 but its more of an awkward wtf moment than anything, but im just walkin along proud that im in deadric armor and look like a badass and well.....i hear a roar of a dragon so im lookin, im lookin, i look in every direction but directly up( remember this part) so im like [censored] this and start casting chain lighting at random [censored] in the sky, and than i say [censored] that, and finally decide to use fire storm(master level destruction spell) so im just about to slam my hands down and...thump....a mammoth fell from the sky...ass planted my body 9 feet in the ground...got up...roared...and proceeded to walk away..no dragon...no cool destruction spell...just....squish....yea..beat that...good luck

(if ur wondering turns out the dragon picked up the mammoth and threw him to a point it glitched and got sent 10 000 feet up in the air....than came and hit the ground with a [censored] vengance..

I have a great fear of Dwemer ruins, I'm certain. Falmer everywhere, creepin' around like little goblins, Chaurus slither around me unnoticed and then spray me from behind. (that sounded wrong) And the robotics... oh the :swear: machines. I have a mild heart attack every time I see one.
The Wolf Queen? Meh, powerful evil witchcraft 'n' stuff...
Alduin? Easier than your average Elder Dragon...
Dragon Priests? Just fancy levitating zombies...

Huh? WASTHATAROBOTSPIDER? Hide me, I don't want to die!

A sneak Sabre Cat attack does make you jump I admit but I have been far more jumpy when playing the FEAR series or Dead Space, if fact I prefer not to play Dead Space late at night with the room lighting turned down as it gets genuinely creepy. :D
