I dunno, but I remember having to walk 15 miles through the snow, just to learn how to add 2 + 2. And we liked it that way! Sure, I'm only 22, but still!

I'll never have a snow say (unless when I eventually go to uni it's abroad -hopefully will :P ) cause even now I have 7o - 13oC which although isn't hot it's not even near enough for snow.

I think you're joking Exorince but it's when you get so much snow that it cripples travel or makes travel hazardous. Like tonight we're suppose to get 1+ ft of snow with 30-60 mph winds all night until tomorrow afternoon, so kids won't have to go to school. I didn't have to go to work because of that, so that's nice. But it's going to svck tomorrow, all the snow cleanup, freezing cold and all that.

I'm sorry, we don't really have snow day here in Iceland.

now excuse me, it's really warm (almost above zero :o ) and I'd like to use the opportunity to go dig up my garage so I can go to work. <_<

Hahaha. I live in Michigan and snow days are very very rare here. In fact I havnt even seen a decent amount of snow in some years, as a kid I could dig a tunnel system on our lawn, now it doesnt even come up to my knees <.<

Snow day lol and atm there is no snow even on the roads.

What's...What's snow? The word strikes as strange to me.

Anywho, if there were this snow day you speak of, I'd be playing games unless there is a test or exam coming up in the next couple 'o weeks.

Here in Maryland we're getting freezing rain tonight and tomorrow, the most we might get right now is iced over roads. :cheat:

Uphill both ways no doubt.

@ Exorince: Are you kidding me? What is a snow day? Okay, so kids nowadays get too many days off due to bad weather, but how can you not know what a snow day is.

He was joking, he lives in Iceland so they're used to getting dumped (snow) on and don't have snow days.

You're lucky! If you live somewhere that doesn't get snow, trust me you don't want it even if you think you do. Run away from it!

I'm not joking, I have no idea what snow day is.

So you don't have to go to school because there is snow? That doesn't make any sense at all.

I couldn't tell with it posted in big bold letters...perhaps a little larger next time.

Anyway, come to think of it, It probably wouldn't make much sense to cancel school or events on account of some snow or ice then, would it.

Oh, well it's like I said earlier. They usually issue snow days when travel is going to be hazardous for drivers in general, but especially bus drivers and parents who drive their kids to school and for kids that walk to school. Some work places give snow days too depending on where it is and how bad it is (like my job today). But it usually revolves around kids. This usually happens here with temperatures of -25 F or below (-35 wind chill) and 10+ inches of snow.

I would study, because I was a nerd  We only really had snow days if the teachers couldn't get in, as many lived further away from the school than the kids. I remember once having trudged my way to school only to be told to go home during reception period because not enough teachers could arrive to keep the school running. But seeing the snow and listening to the local radio during breakfast to see if your schools name would be in the snow day updates was always fun (and crushingly disappointing if it wasn't).

I can predict a snow day for you all: 11-11-11.

Anyway, snow days mostly apply to school and public bus services. We still have to go to work (if you work retail) because there are always morrons looking to buy stuff because they don't work that day... Of course not all employees go to work, but that's no problem since the day is pretty boring.
