Suggest your own skills!

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:55 am

Like the topic said, this thread will be for people to have a chance to suggest their own skills. make them realistic or not, balanced or over powered, passive or active...It does not matter!! Anything goes!! This is all hypothetical, so i ask that you please don't criticize other people's ideas. This thread was inspired by another threat about speculations regarding the skills. Even though I think the guesses where very good and are probably right, I hope that person is wrong because most of the skills suggested are just upgrades and that takes away from diversity.

...Anyways, who knows maybe the devs will get some ideas from here. I'll get it started:

Engineer- Ability to jam other people's guns.

Operative- Ability to grab people from behind and use them as shields

Soldier- Ability to pick up enemy turrets

Medic- Steal health syringes from other medics

Only if he's a lower or same weight class, would make sense, might see some heavy Ops then.

Soldier:

Grenadier - Killing an enemy instantly refills your grenade timer. If your grenade was not used, killing an enemy will give you an extra grenade, up to a maximum of three.

Holy Hand Grenade - Extremely powerful grenade with a wide blast radius, but a long fuse.

Medic:

Aid Station - Plant a small crate that heals allies when they interact with it. Can be used 4 times before disappearing.

Magic Wellness Stick - Melee'ing allies restores a small amount of health.

Engineer:

Fire Rate Buff 1 & 2 - Increases fire rate of the buffed gun by 20 and 40%, respectively.

Stability Buff 1 & 2 - Reduces recoil by 15 and 30%, respectively.

Super Mini Turret - A small, relatively weak turret that can be placed virtually anywhere. Walls, ceilings, etc.

Operative:

I Spy - Upgrade your teammate's turrets with a spy cam that allows them to detect disguised enemy Operatives.

Little Eye - Place a small camera that marks enemies within its visual range on your radar.

Something Red - Special grenades. Decoys that emit dummy radar signals at random intervals. Can be planted on floors, walls, ceilings, etc.

This is beautiful. In a game where automatic voice calls and radar blips are very important, there HAS to be some way to cheat the system.

I'm just placing my opinion and does not aim to criticize it.
The devs took away the backstab ability because half the time there's operatives chasing each other in circles trying to unleash that ability. Personally, with this information, I think any ability that's activated be getting behind someone and up close will not work as imagined.

I would like to see a "Spread Intel" sort of ability where an operative could mark a target with a marker that appears through all objects within 10 meters.

How about some Combined Skills? Use the abilities of two or more classes to get a more interesting result!

Engineer's Turret and/or Engineer's Mine + Operative's Firewall and/or Operative's Upgrade = Hardened Fortress: makes Command Posts far tougher to hack/steal

Engineer's Weapon Buff + Soldier's Give Ammo = Superior Firepower: increases damage of weapons by 40%

Medic's Health Buff + Engineer's Armor = Greater Resilience: increases damage resistance/health by 50%.

Operative's Hacking + Engineer's Repairing = Technical Specialist: get a 33% bonus to your hacking and repair speeds.

Soldier's Grenades + Operative's Grenades = Boom Goes the Dynamite: increases grenade damage by 15% and splash radius by 25%.

Operative's Disguise + Engineer's Weapon Buff = Assassin: grants the ability to perform a one-hit incapacitation on one enemy, so long as the hit was a headshot with a sidearm or light rifle, and the user is successfully disguised. Using this ability ends both the Disguise and the Weapon Buff.

Hahahaha, I love coming up with stuff like this. It's my bread and butter, really.

Soldier:

Fastball - Throw your grenades straight and fast! Causes knockdown if you hit someone with them directly.

Medic:

Riddle 'em - Buff your ally's concentration and stamina, increasing their stability while firing.

Engineer:

Dead Man's Chest - Rig your fallen allies to explode when finished off.

Operative:

Prank Call: Enemies within a certain radius of you will hear random fake comm messages.

soldier-
BOOMSHACKALAKA- grenade launchers explode on contact and blow up enemy grenade to use against them (doesnt work if grenade is already use)

Bullet penatration (passive - has stonger bullets by 10% (since soldiers dont really have anything but grenades that make deadly and if ur a SOLDIER u shud be able to put dudes down quick)

Engineer-
kaboom turrets shoot a rocket they can only shoot one once per 20 sec

Operatice- take a stab operative stab is one hit kill from back and in head

Medic-
Need a Medic!- you can heal players with an extra pip point ( passive)

Lol, yes definitely overpowered! but awesome!! Dead man's chest is amazingly cruel!

your medic skill gave me an idea:

Medic - Nerfed- increase the cost of enemy skills

and on a side note, im loving some of the names you guys came up with for your skills.

Engineer-
where theres 1 there are many: puts up to 3 cameras on any surface at any angle. All 3 camera views show up on the bottom of your screen.
An eye in the sky: Puts a small droid up in the sky that has a birds eye view: move drone by pressing LS (xbox and PS3) or G (PC) and it hovers over where your crosshair was when you pressed the button.

First ability sounds more like an operative. So no one likes the Grammation Cleric ability?

Almost too close to combat intuition for my taste. Also, You'd need some serious Hand-eye coordination to dodge bullets.......
