The excessively stupid things of skyrim that don't make sens

As the new guy in the Thieves Guild or Assassin Guild I am expected to do 100% of the missions myself while everyone else sits around doing nothing.
As the leader of the Thieves Guild or Assassin Guild I am STILL expected to 100% of the missions myself while everyone else sits around doing nothing.

The guards say things like "is it true? you know, you being part of the dark brotherhood and all?" They don't exactly know. People most likely whisper about you, but noone really knows....

a lot of bandit and forsworn camps have forges, grindstones, enchanting areas but none of them use any type of upgraded weapon.
why can't a master smith like the one in the skyforge upgrade weapons for a fee?

Why do NPC's who have served their usefulness in all the quests they're associated with still remain unkillable? Why cant I decapitate Maven Black Briar ffs?

Also if the Thalmor as the given evil group in the land after the one and I mean one quest that goes with their embassy why can't I just storm in there and finish them all off?

Someone's previous post just made me think of this: mammoth tusks. A couple radiant quests require them. The land is littered mammoth skulls. There are literally tusks everywhere you step yet you can't take them.

I really don't think anyone in Skyrim outside of the Greybeards and the Dragonborn are actually capable of killing Ulfric in a fight, I mean come on he's packing a BFG and if he so chooses can send a pack of Giants flying with his Unrelenting shout. This with the fact he is a competent warrior would be over kill for most anyone. The fact Ulfric can launch the Dragon born across a room shows how powerful he is.

Ulfric is also rather intelligent and I'm sure he can tell when a Brotherhood assassin has just entered his hold. The Brotherhood seems to have a distinct dress code that screams I stab people. Plus they seem fairly fond of attacking superior warriors up front in the day light :P

the DB quest to kill the Emperor . . . and apparently the Imperial soldiers are in on it because they are waiting for you afterwards and have already conspired with the DB???!!!

that whole questline seemed . . . contrived. I mean, killing an emperor is treated like an afterthought . . . . like it could have been a random quest from some guy in Riften.

Yesterday I decided to try out my new werewolf ability so I transformed in front of Aela in the underforge...

She shouted "die foul beast" or something along those lines and attacked me...
...um. How could you NOT know I was a werewolf - you're my forebearer!

-That the VIP that I kill at the end of the Dark Brotherhood questline seems to have no impact on the game or the civil war other than a few guards mentioning he's dead.

how much of any government is actually tied to one VIP? there are some organizations in the game that would crumble without their VIP... that particular chain just shows how little that individual garnering all the hate actually mattered as a face for the public.

lol

My list of complaints!

1. My NPC follower's don't die when dragons breath fire/frost on them repeatedly, but they'll die at the hands of a well placed falmer strike.

2. My NPC follower's will enter sneak mode with me yet they svck at sneaking... (Is there a follower that is good at this??)

3. No missions to be a guard and escort caravans from city to city! This would be intense. Yet they talk about caravan routes. I digest.

4. Not enough variety of merchants in cities. Hidden shops and so forth would be fun and welcome.

These complaints aside, one thing I would like to mention that was done really well was the monetary system in this game, Bethesda did a wonderful job of balancing money and making it a sought after commodity that is actually useful, which is the one reason I stopped playing Oblivion.

As the new guy in the Thieves Guild or Assassin Guild I am expected to do 100% of the missions myself while everyone else sits around doing nothing.

There are things you can get that you can't by smithing.

Do more quests, get rewards. Daedric quests have pretty good items and they'll probably add more stuff in an expansion pack or something.

The DB tells them that you are going to kill the Emperor, so the legion gets a double/look-alike. Astrid just wants you dead, because you jeopardize her position as leader of the DB Sanctuary.

Everyone hates and outlaws necromancy yet these same people are all fine with enchanted weapons that are fueld by the SOULS of your slain enemy... Gee. And to think the necro folks are only playing with dead bodies.

Not necessarily a gripe, but more of a head-scratcher...

Dragons are ostensibly overgrown lizards, right? Sure, they're bigger and scarier, but it's tough to deny that "reptilian" is pretty much the basis for their overall physiognomy.

Except that reptiles are cold-blooded. So a race of dragons choosing to live in the coldest, snowiest region of Tamriel seems...a little unlikely. The same goes for Argonians. They'd freeze to death.

And as long as I'm on the subject...if you've ever looted the clothes off of an Argonian, you know that they have nipbles. nipbles? Um...Reptiles are not mammals. They do not nurse their young. There is no reason for a reptilian race to have milk-spouts on their bodies.

Yeah, I know. It's a game. A game full of magic, mysticism, and fantasy. And a damn good one, too. So it's awfully hair-splitty to accept that reptiles can talk and walk on two legs, or fly and breathe fire, but then get touchy about minor biological details...These were just things I fund to be kinda curious.

good point. in that case, they were complicit in the murder of the lookalike, and left the emperor on a ship knowing the DB was still after him.

Just to say, like a lot of scientists are debating, dragons could well be considered warm-blooded creatures, much like they are in D&D lore. After all, if they can magically breathe fire and were cold-blooded it wouldn't be too much of a problem keeping warm, but the frost breathing dragons would be screwed... Also flight as a cold-blooded creature of such weight in a cold environment would be absolutely impossible (not to mention impossible anyway considering their proportions) so they pretty much must be warm-blooded.

Argonians would follow a similar logic to the above; they're warm blooded as well in all probability, and most likely do nurse their young, hence briasts on the female Argonians since... Well, Morrowind I guess? It'd be debatable as to whether they give birth to live young as well (phrases like egg-brother, etc might just be sayings rather than based on truth) but either way I don't want to think about that TOO much, haha.

Except that reptiles are cold-blooded.

Snakes have scales. Fish have scales. Both are exothermic, neither walk on legs, both move with a side-to-side motion. Ergo, using the above logic, snakes must be able to breathe under water.

Dragons are not reptilian, and via all lore I've read (from many cultures) I've yet to run across any that displayed non-endothermic characteristics.

To the grip-list at hand I add the following: It's cool that NPCs tell me things about themselves but you'd think they'd stop saying the same damned sentence after the 7th time in a row, in the last 30 seconds, and have seemingly no short chit-chat dialog. I think it would be great to hire an amateur writer for an afternoon or two to do basic character design and realistic dialog -- and I say amateur just to highlight how bloody bad Bethy is at doing it.

It all boils down to using the souls of formerly living beings you killed for nothing more than fuel. No excuses. No exceptions.

Some dev at one point noted that the Argonians were Ovoviviparious. They're apparently able to give live birth or they can lay eggs, depending on the climate.
