The excessively stupid things of skyrim that don't make sens

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 11:03 am

List them.. and i am talking about story here

1: That you/someone else can't simply assasinate ulfric. He's not protected at all and he personaly talks to anyone who walks into his palace!! Would save a whole questline!

2: That thieves have thief armour and assassins have assassin armour

3: Guards knowing you are part of the dark brotherhood and not arresting you.. in fact guards just know everything!!

5: The elite guards of the empire do not level scale and so are some of the weakest enemies in the game!

6: That Nobody realy cares that you wear faction armour (thalmor robes in windhelm, forsworn armour in markath, i assume wearing stormcloak in solitude has little effect) (although im a bosmer- generic thalmor soldiers smile at me whilst named ones still look down their nose at me.. even if i wear elven clothes/armour)

7: one of the daedric princes appears to you as a dremora... ( servants of mehrunes dagon- another prince) ( the dremora doesnt even suit this prince)

8: that you dont learn all shouts from the greybeards/word walls at once. Plus dragons shout differently and greybeards shout differently! I mean.. if i was a greybeard id try to indoctrinate the dragonborn! They teach you shouts in seconds so why not give you a day of teachings and a good book to read!! DARN GAMEPLAY REASONS!!

9: how often the loading screen lies- i have never seen a random werewolf.
Anyone want to add to this?

1. That would kind of be a bit stupid, and would break all the quests.

2. How's that stupid?

3. If they know you're in the DB, they will stay well away. If they arrest you then they can be sure they'll have a knife in their back from one of your associates that night.

5. They're guards. Nothing said they're elite. However even at level 30 they're still quite a challenge in numbers for me.

6. I think Bethesda didn't do this because in NV they tried it. While it worked well you were rather limited in what armour you could actually wear, and all it did was turn groups hostile.

7. Haven't seen this yet.

8. Part of mastering the Thu'm is learning the shouts yourself, either through intense practice or finding dragon walls/souls.

9. Again, not sure.

That was particularly disappointing.

-That you as a Khajiit [if you are one] are the only Khajiit allowed into walled cities.

-That all the kids are Nords.

-That spellmaking was "too spreadsheety" to remain, but http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Ingredients isn't.

-That "Weakness to" poisons don't apply to the current hit. "Weakness to" should at least apply to lingering poisons or lingering effects like being on fire [for weakness to fire].

-That you can only apply enchantment effects to certain items.

The guards know that you pledged to Sithis, and they know that doing anything would mean that they would be murdered. Or they won't do anything because they can't do anything unless they actually see you commit a crime, or a crime is reported against you. Like how a cop in real life might see someone they KNOW is a gangster, but can't do anything because the rest of the gang would come after them, or because they didn't actually see the gangster actually commit a crime.

There are actually Imperial, Breton, and Redguard kids in the game. Only thing is, they all pretty much look alike so you can only tell by their names or who their parents are.

What i'd like to know is how Delphine got that horn, bypassing all those traps and mobs and leaving through a sealed exit. Surely that's the biggest plot - hole in the entire game :P

Some of this is true, especially the part about assassinating Ulfric Stormcloak.

However, some things would just break the game if they were done, like the armour thing. I tried walking around Solitude in Stormcloak armour, and the guard said "That Stormcloak armour is making me nervous...", while when wearing the Dark Brotherhood armour a guard said "You aren't fooling anyone with that armour, assassin" - however if they were hostile to you that would just be to much work for the programmers for something so small.

As for the Dar Brotherhood thing, any person with an ounce of intelligence and logic wouldn't even consider arresting a member of the Dark Brotherhood unless they had an absolute deathwish.

1. You can beat Alduin, and by extension any other dragon at low levels due to their scaling. You can finish the game and beat Alduin on master difficulty at level 10 or less.

2. Way too many NPCs remain essential even after all relevant quests involving them are done.

3. NPCs are bipolar. If you previously helped an NPC, then make them hate you....they give you their angry dialogue, and when you exit they say, nice talking to you.

4. Way too many essential NPCs period. Why can't I exterminate Maven, Delphine, or any other undesirables?

5. We can smith Elven, Glass, Orcish, Dwarven, Daedric, and Dragon weapons/armor without requiring any kind of advanced training and special knowledge aside from gaining the perk.

6. Self smithed/enchanted gear is so good, that there is no point to dungeon delving, as even rare and ancient artifacts are put to shame by our work.

7. Dragons in general are so weak, that even standard wildlife can sometimes beat them.

8. Argonians gasp for breath when surfacing.

9. Merchants randomly stocking their inventories with better stuff as we level.

10. Quests generally have 0 branching or alternative paths that result in a different outcome.

11. Sneak detection ai is stupid.

12. Overall game difficulty, across all settings is too low.

13. So many broken mechanics that it makes an already easy game braindead.

-That the VIP that I kill at the end of the Dark Brotherhood questline seems to have no impact on the game or the civil war other than a few guards mentioning he's dead.

Really this is getting ridiculous. It seems people like to look for problems with the game. Why don't you play the game and stop looking for any reason to complain about something.

I've always wondered why going in to a farm and taking all their crops and the stuff from barrels on their porch isn't stealing.

Wrong! Your not allowed to pick up a fork, or any silverware for that matter, but yet you can pick up cups, plates, food, drinks, kettles. BUT
not a table knife or spoon. OOOOOHHHH NOOOOOO.....that's not allowed.
