i originally came to this forums for new vegas, but i stayed because of the people i met, i enjoyed talking to them.
Also, i am new to elder scrolls, i played morrowind and liked it, but the disc broke, and i just hated the combat system and the character interactions in Oblivion. Though for some reason, i find myself extremely excited for Skyrim.
Yeah, I've noticed it too. I used to post fairly regularly on these forums, and then I went through a period where I didn't log in for a few months. When Skyrim was announced I came back and noticed that the Community Discussion is a lot less active than it was before.
As others have said, I reckon it's because everyone's posting in the Skyrim forums at the moment. They'll be back eventually.
I haven't been around for that long, but things will pick up soon enough.
...
Well, it'll speed up once Skyrim is released, once the Skyrim vs Oblivion and Skyrim vs Morrowind, not to mention lovers vs haters threads start rolling, you'll be hoping it was this quiet And before that we have the "include this from Morrowind/Oblivion" that inevitably turn into Oblivon vs Morrowind threads, not to mention platform wars... :shakehead:
Best to avoid the Skyrim section for about a year, methinks.
I'm doing just that to keep what little sanity I have left.
This isn't as slow as New Vegas general discussion. It feels like a ghost town in there.
Yup, but I haven't been playing much F:NV either. I can't get into the DLC discussion cause I don't have a 360.
Went back to oblivion for a bit and currently playing through Dragon Age DLC right now.
Skyrim section is where the action is at right now, but it is too much torture to start heavy speculation just yet. I got that game informer and was impressed by that feature on Skyrim. That game is going to be a doozy. :celebration:
I have to say the community section is not its amusing self.
Yeah, I remember back in 2008 and 2009, this section was way more entertaining and active than it has been of late. I'm sure it's just one of those bumps in the road, after all there's a big difference between now where a large percent of our students in North America and Europe are in school and in the summer where we're out. I hope it goes back to it's usual self and provides the infinite lulz im used to.

Since I started college I've been getting home later than I used to. :sadvaultboy:
I tried the Brink forums for a bit and they were a tad dikeish for my tastes; particularly people getting overly upset when someone asks a questions that has been answered a couple of time. In general I don't care for forums before release day, as they are mostly pointless debates about things that ultimately don't matter and that won't affect the developers decision. I may migrates over to the Skyrim/Brink forums once I (If I for Brink) get the games to occasionally get help, but other than that I will probably just stay here.
I noticed that these forums were empty as well. They have never been overly exhilarating, more of something for me to look at while I transition to something else. I imagine it is a combation of Skyrim and lack of interesting threads causing people to leave.
That's not to say that these forums can't be very helpful, they in fact can be. Just they aren't very fun "light reading" anymore.
I remember prior to Oblivions release this forum was flooded. It was so bad at one point they cut back on forum features for a while. I would imagine a few months before the next elder scrolls comes out we'll see these forums being maxed out again.
I didn't want to say it, but yeah it really is your fault. :whisper: You and your fancy college. :nerd:
Eh, kinda. I've got to do an hour's bus journey everyday, twice a day... two hours wasted by just sitting in a bus. That means I get home at about 5:15PM.
That's what I get for living at one end of the county, while the college is at the other.
I'm probably contributing to it. I only log in every week or so and just lurk. Just wait till Skyrim, this place will be packed and filled with people posting things in wrong sections, complaining about some simple issue, and people that can't grasp the concept of the game wondering how to switch armor or something.

Just do what I do, leave the forum for a month to actually play the game. The mods will cull the herd and most of those left alive should be able to form a coherent sentence.
yes i also thought it was funny how my thread about no one wanting to post anything has gotten a larger amount of posts then almost every other thread on the 1st page.
Pretty much everyone I usually enjoy talking to is as busy as I am with college and/or work or are gone from the forums for whatever reason, so I only check in now and again these days.
No one enjoys my posting so I just read.... :sadvaultboy:
You just need to be more of a troll.
These are topics they usually get alot of responses: This single player rpg needs a multiplayer component.
I am disappointed w/ the graphics in X game. X weapon is underpowered / overpowered X game is full of bugs, I will never buy from this company again!
Dual wielding, in any way shape or form.
Just kidding those topics svck most of the time Honestly I'm glad the topics get regulated, even some started by me. I was looking at the Bioware forums and it was such a damn mess in there I couldn't tell which way was up. This is pretty much the only game forum I post on.
