the forums have been empty lately

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:56 am

is it just me or has the community discussion been rather empty for the last couple months, i remember when i first signed up in June.

it felt like the community discussion was much more populated then it is now.

Have the forums been less populated recently.

It's a bit slow, I guess. CD goes through natural highs and lows like this though. I guess a few people have probably been distracted by Skyrim and are spending more of their time over there.

I would agree it has slowed down in the last moth or so, but it always happens every now and then.

Yeah its slow... really slow. Then again there isn't much to draw people to the site until we find out more about Skyrim. Plus the Community Discussion button is not on the front page.

I think the over-abundance of depressing threads are driving people away.

It will pick up again. :)

This isn't as slow as New Vegas general discussion. It feels like a ghost town in there.

I agree that it's been a bit slow in CD lately, but I can't agree that NV general discussion is a ghost town. The first page and a half of threads are from today alone, compare that with FO3 general discussion, or better yet, FO3 mods section, That's a real ghost town.

OK maybe not Ghost town. But for a game what came out a few months ago on average this like 7 members in there at one time.

EDIT: There has been a influx in that section at the moment to make me look wrong. <_<

It seems like all we have are Unofficial game topics, whiny topics, girl topics, and random question topics...

I have noticed the emptiness around. But there will be more people about once the Skyrim section dies down a bit.

The NV forums aren't dead, but they certainly aren't as active as the FO3 forums were at this same time after release. I wasn't a member of the forums yet when Oblivion was released but I would suspect that it was more active as well.

There have plenty of good topics that aren't any of the above- Sal the Cat, drunken owl, lurkers lair, tech thread, werewolf, how's your weather, programming threads, movie threads, book threads, music, travel, dream threads...There are a lot of unofficial game threads, but...well, this is a gaming forum.

OP- I do agree, it's been rather quiet. NV forum has quieted down a bit, but I guess that's cause the game's not so new anymore, people are moving on. I used to spend all my time over in the NV forum, then Steam stopped me from being able to play NV, now I spend all my time here :)

The only reason I hop on these days is out of habit, or to check on the world of Warcraft thread. There aren't any fantasy sports threads to keep me around, and these days I just feel like I've seen it all its just the same ole stuff being talked about.

FO3 mods section, That's a real ghost town.

:(
NV Mods isn't getting much love either. I'm not sure it's gone through a page in the past three days.

NV mods section never quite took off the way Oblivion or FO3 did, so i'm not surprised.

Huh, I never really thought of that. Technically that's why I am here too, but in the long run the journey was more fun than the destination.

This is what i'm assuming as well. It does have it's up and downs though. I've been here for 6 years and sometimes it gets really busy while other times it's slower. :P
