The lack of an "Oh Crap!" enemy is a bit disappointi

It still seems Strange "killing" a presumably armoured sentry robot ( anything Dweemer) with a bow and arrow, makes me feel a bit of an ewok, which is not why I invested in this killa D?dric bling suit......

Briarhearts, unless you use a shield, are definitley oh sheet! enemies.

this.

Level 47, I was clearing out a redoubt just the other day, and literally wading through Forsworn, no difficulties, barely dropping health below 90% at any time. All of a sudden, a Briarheart comes running at me, and 2-shots me! Might as well have been 1-shot, because it was a combo. Happened so fast I couldn't do anything but laugh.

as soemone mentioned before......the dragon priests are the "deathclaws" of TES. I remember i got that feeling when i had vanguished a dragon was going up to grab my dragon word from the wall when all of a sudden a casket flys open and a dragon priest comes out. Remembering thinking Bah no prob....wait wtf run away run away! i had to sneak up and first the first time ver hire a follower to distract the priest while i grab my word then i hightailed it outta there and left the poor follower behind....i know i know not epic for my tooon but dangit he gets the job done no matter how u do it...

Don't have a porblem with any enemy anymore (not even ancient dragons, dragon-priests or trolls et.c) due to my lvl 100 sneak and my unenchanted deadric dagger. Have 4 characters now, though so I have some problems with those high lvl enemies on my rp character who walks in clothes

I find Dragon Priests easy enough for an archer/assassin character, but ancient dragons with frost breath still take 2-3 reloads, and I'm level 51 on adept. Of course they're only frosties 50% of the time, but still.

Every draugr dungeon I go into at level 52 has groups of two, three or four shouting Deathlords and Death Overlords blowing me all over the place. I wish there were Deathclaws in this game. I'm sick to death of feeling like a ping pong ball.

Been in that situation myself , but in the mid 30's levels for that paticular Thieves Guild misison myself. Smashing them from the dark with x3 damage and i'm there 20 minutes or more trying to kill them on Master difficulty.

Strong groups are bad, but just one on one is easy enough to handle.

I personally come across loads of 'oh crap!' enemies, due to the fact I have lots of characters, meaning none of them are even level 20 yet. The highest is lvl 12 or 13, and so I still have to run from certain enemies haha. But I can see how the lack of these sorts of enemies when you reach a higher level could make things a little dull.

Probably because its not that "Post-Apocalyptic Everybody-and-everything-wants-you-dead kind of world".

Frost Trolls, Bears, and Spriggins give me that feeling at low levels.

And Draugr Deathlords with Ebony bows and arrows give it to me on high levels. Two hits kill me, and their Unrelenting Force is strong enough to throw me around. I have to get close to them quickly for they to switch to their less powerful melee weapons, and stay close even during the shout, and have enough health that i can stay alive until i recover from the shout. Good thing they don't have that much HP, and Marked for Death helps to kill them even faster. This on level 41 with base health of 260.

Al has nothing on these guys :cold:

Make yourself underwhelming and you'll find most enemies become much more epic.

I totally disagree.

With my sniper rifle I could take out Deathclaws with ease - even if they surprised me...... Just backpedal and plant 2-3 shots in their cranium.

I still have 'oh crap' moments in Skyrim (more than in FO at high levels) b/c of Draugr Deathlords at high levels and a few other creatures.

In FO and FO:NV once I was over level 20-25 I never died..... I had such high armor/# of attacks/weaponry that most things were mowed down....

Maybe if I met 3-4 Deathclaws or Cazadors all at once with them having surprise would I have to reload.... maybe.

I want to see bigger enemies. The dragons and Mammoths did something for me in this game, remind my why i loved monster hunter. Taking down the same group of generic bandits and thalmor isnt the same as taking down a giant, dragon, or mammoth. Those battles to me feel really epic, they feel interesting and unique. I want more big enemies. i was hoping to see more reptilian beasties in skyrim, just cause dragons are gone doesnt mean we couldnt have maybe something a long the lines of raptors, or maybe aligators. Big enough to hunt down mammoths. i want to fight packs of enemies as well. Am I the only one that feels sabre cats should have been in packs and much bigger than what they are? Because when you first kill a bandit its like "Awesome I pwned him/her!" But then its all "yay.....I killed the same bandit for like....the 1000th time now....yeah...sweet..." It lost its luster.

You never played Lonesome Road did you? Go play lonesome road on very hard hardcoe and try to sneak attack a death claw there, i dare you. Watch what happens XD. i was lvl 50 had every perk for damage and stealth boosting imaginable I was a certified beast. I went up to Rawr in stealth with an Anti-Material Rifle AP ammo, and poped a round in his head, not a dent, he proceeded to find me and one shot me, at first I said ah its just one boss, then i did it to a nearby death claw, needless to say I went in the next time with all my weapons on go and brought my strongest armor and gear and even resorted to abusing turbo just not to get hit. mind you this was a lvl 50 god pc (No not god mode but as in uber powerful) and I was never more afraid of a death claw in my life.

Once the creation kit come out will you mod dragons to have more magic resistance, armor rating and hit points? I'm thinking of doing that to elder dragons and maybe some other things? I do like a challenge.

Most of what makes an enemy tough is its AI and behaviors. Most enemies are easy to kill because they make no attempt to avoid your attacks, or they simply aren't aggressive enough in battle(like the dragons). The dragons could be sooo much more difficult if they were smarter.

I guess the fact that you can make your character extremely overpowered via enchanting and smithing plays a big role in that. It's a bit disappointing.

How is it disappointing? No one is forcing you to make OP gear or make your character OP. If you still want a challenge, wear low level gear and don't upgrade/enchant it at all. Same goes for weapons.

Yea, once you get to higher levels there really are none of those super powerful enemies. At lower levels, spriggans are the worst; I practically [censored] my pants every time I was running through the forest and I saw my screen change color. The first few dragon priests were also rather scary.

I once went up against a Draugr Deathlord that could one-hit my conjured Dremora lord.

You can imagine that I kept the hell away from that big ebony battle axe he had...

If you are on PC, grab the mod PISE. Nothing will make you scream like a little girl more than a damn ancient dragon spawning when you are level 6.

Yeah I'm doing that with a character now. I'm not doing enchanting or smithing. I think I'll go for the treasure hunter perk and see if I can find some good loot.
