Wouldn't be kinda cool if the Pens and Canucks met in the finals and went the distance (Game 7 OT)? There's other match-ups I'd prefer, but that would be an interesting one.
Personally I'd like to see some other teams.

Flyers and Kings
Preds and Senators

Random thoughts from the last night:

- Marty looked sick. It's good to see the team now producing and Kovy getting into the playing style. I think it recuired Zach Parise back. A very eclectic player, that one.

- It seems the Caps are fighting for their lives to beat the last year's Champs. I wouldn't be surprised if Holtby was the new face of the franchise. I think he could've been a starter in many teams in the last season already. Now he played great once again and the crowd absolutely adored him! Good thing to see a young talent like that getting foothold in the league. Also, why is Semin suddenly sinking so low as to play well? Does he want another contract or something? It'd be easy to become useless again if he gets another year with 6,7M just because of these playoffs. Anyway, the whole team seems to have certain playoff workrate going on. They don't score that much, but damn are they trying hard!

-
Ref stole a goal from the Hawks in a tight game...
I didn't get this. If you mean that Frolik break-away, it seems Clemmy had the puck for long enough for a rightful whistle. I never saw it from a good camera angle from the highlights, but it sure seems that way. (The refs couldn't see it either, though, since they were all somewhere around the red line during the chance, granted.) The Yotes are fighting really hard anyway, it seems. Great effort by the Hawks to tie it yet again, but this time it just wasn't enough.

- St. Louis truly have a great blueline and goaltending, but I don't think it's going to be enough in the long run. Once they get against a good offensive team, they can't take it anymore. I'm afraid the same will eventually happen to the Yotes and Preds if they can win their series.

- At the moment, my every bet in the west is wrong except for the Blues-Sharks. Oh well...

Flyers were worried about which refs were reffing which games, can't blame them, but given the way this Game 5 has already started, it seems more like a league directive of vastly different officiating than a varying personality complex of referees.

Gord Miller points out that each team that's scored first in this series has lost that game.

Flyers score with a few left on the power play.. if that's any omen for the way this series has gone it spells Penguins victory.

Why does Steve Sulliavan look like he's going to cry every time he scores?

Wow, questionable call on Fisher. Me'thinks there was a little acting on Stuarts part there. Never seen anyone do a full 360 soccer-head-hold on the ice from such a soft touch.

Wow what is this odd style of playing going on right now? Why are they players attempting to keep the other teams out of thier own zone?

Wings have been constantly hanging Howard out to dry, no way the Preds should be getting middle of the ice shots right in front of Howard like they've been getting all series. The D is just horrible.

If the Flyers lose this game, I think Game 6 is their last shot. If they go into Pittsburgh for Game 7 the way they've been playing D.. they're gonna get blown out of the game. Still a 1 goal game so plenty of time for Philly to try and turn this game around to get rest for the next round.

If the Wings are gonna lose their series the least the hockey gods can do is make sure the teams that were up 3-0 in this round don't lose too. :(

Reverse sweep.

If your down 0-3 in the series and then win 4 in a row, it's a reverse sweep. :P

So, uhhh... Who was that playing goal for Pittsburgh tonight? Definitely wasn't the same goalie that played games two and three.

Just so you know Z, you need to update the Blues-Sharks series and the Coyotes-Hawks series.

I agree that Philly has one shot left to win the series. I don't know why but after Pens trailed the series to 3-1, Flyers seemed to lose all their confidence/hope. WHY? Like many here, I see it going to game 7 and Pens winning it. :(

I actually watched the game until 3-2 goal half asleep. :P Then I couldn't take it anymore and I collapsed. At least I saw all the goals in the game, unfortunately. I thought there was going to be about 6 more goals but no.

I'm surprised how Nashville managed to beat the Wings so quickly. They're all about Pekka Rinne, though. They fall the instant he doesn't play well or gets hurt.
