The Wait for Honest Hearts - Part 5

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 4:12 am

Oh no, THAT'S it...
You can have a delayed release, you can troll your own customers with an "lol!" post...

But you do NOT lock Waiting for the DLC, Part 4 -JUST- before it reaches page 12. Waiting for the DLC, Part 4 had such a bright future, and you smashed that future right before it's very eyes!
This is inexcusable, and you have lost me as a customer!

Good day to you, sirs! :brokencomputer:

Inferior mortal. Part 4 had no future. Part 3 was the best part and no one can deny it. The trollfest there exceeded all human understanding and propelled the forums in to a realm of Gods. Failure to admit this will have you set alight and thrown in to the Grand Canyon.

Patrolling the Bethboards makes me wish for a nuclear winter.

And instead of Bittersprings there will be the BitterEnd.

Trouble is your company dont release anything interesting so yeah, you dont have to deal with a flood of customer all comming in same time and you have to stall them with it will be a little late. When that happen with a hype delay, you need info to calm the mob.

It is not unusual for any large business or business partnership that making a public statement has to be approved by many levels of management, even if you are a manager and your opinion/statement "officially" represents the opinions of your company (especially if you are pointing a finger at your partner), I am in management where i work and we have all been told that any statement must be approved at the corporate level and if asked by anyone we are to say we are taking the situation very seriously or I am sorry I do not have time to chat at the moment. If some kind of official statement/update was to be made the dlc would probably be out by the time it was approved.

I'm really sick of being compared to a child or someone who is entitled. This is how I'm looking at it: I the consumer have been told that the product that I want will be out today, this to me is a promise from the company producing the product that I like and that I am willing to spend my money on. When said product is delayed and not released I have the right to ask why is it delayed and when will it be out. I also have the right to expect an answer and an explanation in a timely manner. Neither of these things is unreasonable so long as I keep a civil tounge\keyboard. While I may have 11 and a half hours before the day is over for me other people do not and they also have the right to ask what is taking so long. This is the kind of situation where we should be kept in the loop. We are not asking for a technical explantion as to what happened, a simple one would suffice along with an ETA on release. All that we are really asking for and waiting for is one post telling us what happened that would take at most 2-3 minutes to write, I do not think that is unreasonable to ask for.

They don't really owe you anything. Moderators on a forum usually don't know anything (dcuo is a great example of that). The problem is probably with steam/valve not bethseda.

This just in: Steam's newest intern, a Mr Fantastic, just replied to me when I asked him what's taking the DLC so long. He said:

"I know exactly what I'm doing, I just don't know what effect it's going to have. That console over there controls the updates for Portal, that button there makes a crazy noise and releases Worms DLC, and if you put stuff in that slot marked 'Honest Hearts' then sparks come out....."

I guess that's why they're moderators: they dont have to do anything other than pressing the "lock-up" button when a thread hits 14 pages or some.
