these threads just show that, even after everyone complained about being bored with New Vegas and "moving on", the promise of a DLC brings everyone running back, foaming at the mouth like rabid cyberdogs. You love it. (DLC will be here in the next 2 hours, so go for a walk in the fresh air or something. Have a cup of tea. Ah, go on, go on, go on etc)

Yeah, go back and read my first post, I work for a major Telco in tech support, I know very well how big companies work.

When there's an outage, we get told there's an outage, and it will be fixed "Soon" the next thing we know, its fixed.

When there's an outage, they fix the problem, they don't do the paperwork.

Trouble is your company dont release anything interesting so yeah, you dont have to deal with a flood of customer all comming in same time and you have to stall them with it will be a little late. When that happen with a hype delay, you need info to calm the mob.

Hrrm seems my download of The Witcher 2 is done, and...still no Honest Hearts.

Hopefully theres none of this "US/EU" version crap in the Witcher 2 like there was in the original.

Suppose that ten bucks for Honest Hearts can be spent whenever, its just ten bucks after all.

From past thread:

.

And I don't get how some people can call the flaming posters on here 'people with a silly entitlement complex' when they are the ones spending the money and making it possible for the products to exist.

I'll field this question: It's easy. It's because people are bleating about how "ZOMG A SINGLE DAY'S DELAY MEANS I'M GOING TO UNINSTALL THE GAME IN PROTEST!"

The thing here is that people are whining about a trivial delay as if it actually mattered. They want their gratification now, just like spoiled children. None of them realize that problems with just about any sort of release are inevitable. In short, they feel entitled to HH.

Imagine HH is released in store, except the truck carrying the hardcopies crashes on the way. Would you be justified in whining about the delay? No. Of course not. Mistakes happen, and whining and demanding "WHERE IS MAH GAME!!?" just makes you look like a petulant child.

Or another example: When the power goes out, does calling the power company and complaining about it do anything? No.

Good news is that I never moved on in the first place. I am watching videos just to pass the time until it releases. My game's stable enough for Honest Hearts so I should be ready when it comes out.

My company doesn't release anything interesting? Perhaps, if the iPhone isn't interesting.

But it does provide soemthing that costs real people real money. Internet, Phone serivces. When our service goes down we have something worse than a mob, we have businesspeople screaming at us that we're taking the food from their mouths.

Much more important that some video game.

When we have an outage, it effects millions, causing a true flood of customers. Bethesda has surely not seen anything on the scale that we see during a nationwide outage.

Fact is, if my comapny had an outage today, Several people here that are currently winging at bethesda would be winging at my company for keeping them offline.

Oh no, THAT'S it...
You can have a delayed release, you can troll your own customers with an "lol!" post...

But you do NOT lock Waiting for the DLC, Part 4 -JUST- before it reaches page 12. Waiting for the DLC, Part 4 had such a bright future, and you smashed that future right before it's very eyes!
This is inexcusable, and you have lost me as a customer!

Good day to you, sirs! :brokencomputer:

I was reading the Steam forum discussion about the delay and from there went to go look at the server stats. It's funny because twice as many people are playing NV right now as are playing either of the two big releases for the today, the demand for which are presumably at least partially behind the delays for HH. But while Valve's servers are being taxed more then they were at this time yesterday or the day before, I can't imagine they couldn't handle HH if they wanted to.

Which is why they should have released HH on a different week, really. Now there are a bunch of angry fans and no explanation.
