The what we love about skyrim topic.

Everything except broken smithing\enchanting and destruction scaling :) Wonderful game.

Even though it's a single player game where nothing that anybody else does effects you in the slightest. And the fact that if you rank your smithing up to 100 and your overall level skies high it will actually make you much weaker compared to other people your own level and even other monsters.

I personally like the combat compared to past games. Even though it still sometimes feels like you can be slashing somebody repeatedly who is only wearing a robe who won't die but the finishing moves, etc are all just epic so it makes up for it.

My list of what I love about this game grows after each gaming session. I really love running into the unexpected. Something like a simple drinking contest can turn into a quest line hours long. You can slay a dragon outside a city and the entire town comes out to view the dragon's corpse and listen to their astonished comments. Your fame, or infamy, will sometimes proceed you into towns you have yet to visit. The freedom of choice and all the consequences that go with that choice. In short, (and despite of some current minor PC performance issue) this is on my top 5 list of best games I've play over the last 20 years.

I have a game that when I'm not playing it, I'm thinking about it. You know a game is special when it has this effect, exceeded my high expectations. Very happy with my purchase.

Everything except the miscellaneous portion of the quest journal. Almost everything is sublime. Especially the dungeon-crawling. Can't get enough.

The nature: the rivers and waterfalls! Lunar Moths, Torchbugs. Crafting is really nice! Can't get enough of it.

The feeling that everything you do is progress, coming out of a dungeon with lots more things to use for smithing and enchanting for wxample

Just... everything. The Dragon shouts, the fast, visceral combat, the beautiful magic effects, the dialogue, the cities, the aesthetics, the quests, the skills. Nearly flawless. Not to mention once the CS comes out and the mods start flowing, hoo boy, this game is going to skyrocket in quality, and it's already at the top.

I love the new sneak mechanic, and how they gave daggers the x15 multiplier to make it a viable way to play the game. I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee the stealth finishing move and I wish you could trigger it all the time. I also wish there are stealth finishing moves for all creatures rather than just on humanoid npcs.

The only downside of the game is that i have to create my own character. Need a good name, looks of my character etc. I rather have it the Final Fantast way. The rest of the game nothing to say, i love it.

The fact that the faces don't look like they're made out of play-dough. Oblivion I'm looking in your direction...

I thought negative feedback was good, it means the game has worth and people are honestly interested in it. Even if trollers are along for the ride.

One of the main things i love about this game that i haven't really experienced anywhere else(except maybe oblivion) is the pure depth of the game. I have played the game for over a week now on just a single character, and i have yet to start either of the two main quest lines. This game is just so massive and full of depth that it just svcks you in - i'll set out to go do something and two hours later i'll be on the other side of Skyrim in some random dungeon solving puzzles.

Also one more quick thing i love is the dungeons. A huge improvement from Oblivion is that every dungeon has it's own unique quality. Every dungeon is different in it's own way; layout, bosses, loot, puzzles, treasure, story, look - every dungeon looks different. This is a huge improvement from Oblivion if anyone remembers how god awful those dungeons where. (Every single one looked exactly the same).

I am really, truly impressed by the stability and (relative) efficiency of the engine this time around. My computer has no problem running Skyrim, whereas Oblivion I would have plenty of stuttering and funky problems that I would usually have to find tweaks to fix. It helps so much for immersion when I rarely, if ever, crash to desktop. In addition, I love how the races look. Oblivion was a joke when it came to faces, and it was hard to connect to a lot of the NPCs as a result.

The dialogue has improved this time around, and I don't feel like every generic NPC is 100% a carbon copy of another. What's more, I am amused by the unique responses that can occur when you do things around NPCs, like dropping armor and having an NPC running up to you to ask if they can have it.

I feel like the terrain is a hundred times more interesting and dynamic than in Oblivion. I see a lot less copy/paste when it comes to a lot of the terrain elements, and the same goes for the dungeons. I really like how they've made dungeons this time around. I love looking for little details, and the developers have lovingly scattered them all over dungeons so that each one has something relatively unique about them. Granted, there's only so much you can do using the same textures/dungeon pieces, but I feel like they managed to do a very good job at keeping me interested.

I find a lot of the quests to be pretty fun. At least the ones that aren't FedEx ones. Ironically, I found the sidequests a lot more compelling than the main quest.

Magic's much flashier now, which I definitely appreciate. It got tiresome throwing little balls and making your enemies glow in Oblivion. Now it feels more satisfying when I lob a fireball, for instance, although usually it's the enemy that's doing that to me...

Perks were an interesting concept that I'd like to see expanded upon. While the interface is a little wonky, the artistic depiction of constellations is, I feel, very fitting for TES.

While I do have lots of negative criticism over a lot of Skyrim's elements, I feel like the good outweighs the bad. I've put in so many hours into vanilla Skyrim compared to Oblivion, and I am so going to mod the crap out of it and play it even more. I just love replayability. :)

I love how I'm about 60 hrs into the game and have yet to finish any of the questlines! I love how I can sneak one shot with the bow! Hearing that "ding" makes me giggle! And I love how even tho my guy is pretty badass i can still walk into a dungeon and get owned!

I love the little details that I sometimes notice, like a stream of ants crawling around on a stump, or the way water splashes on a dead bandit in the river. There have been many jaw-dropping moments of discovering Bethesda's attention to detail. Not to mention almost everything else, graphically, atmospherically and mechanically. Love this game. Best I've ever played in my life -- yes, even more fun than Mario Bros 3 and Castlevania 3. Thank you Bethesda!!

Best game that I have played in years!

For me the best thing is really the amount of content and the world its self, the atmosphere is great, the surroundings look beautiful. I fell in love with Rivorwood and that''s my home town where I stay every now and then. Had my first dragon assaulting the town yesterday which killed one of the villagers, it was a said loss! I just love in that in this game the monsters (dragons in this case) actually attack villages, in most other games villages are safe zones which makes it harder to roleplay/feeling that you are fighting for something.
